Obama rallies Dems on the Hill

Washington (CNN) - President Obama said Saturday that after a year of debate, Congress is on the threshold of passing health care reform legislation.

"This piece of historic legislation is built on the private insurance system that we have now and runs straight down the center of American political thought," he told lawmakers Saturday.

"We are making sure that the system of private insurance works for ordinary families," he said, calling the legislation a "patient's bill of rights on steroids" and "the toughest insurance reform in history."

The bill is expected to go up for a House vote on Sunday.

"If you agree that the system is not working for ordinary families, if you've heard the same stories that I've heard everywhere, all across the country, then help us fix the system," Obama said in urging lawmakers to pass the bill. "

Blah, Blah, Blah. I believed in Obama, voted for him and gave him a chance. Now I don't listen to anything he says, because he's proven that all he does is lie. He just says whatever he thinks people want to hear. Then he makes back room deals, just like the Republicans did for the last 8 years.

    I want my vote back!

Listening to the lies he is telling makes me laugh as he stand there and begs Dems to not do it for Pelosi and Reid or him, but do it for the one or two hardship cases which he is reciting. What a sorry piece of dung he is proving to be. Wants to spend the country into oblivion and than darned near cries when he can't get the votes to do it. He is pathetic and so are all of the Dems wanting to pass this boon doggle!

Even Obama admits he does not know what's in the healthcare "reform" bill. What kind of president or leader is it? Nacy Pelosi for president?

I, for one, believes that Obama wants total control of all 3 huge money makers. He continuosly says we need to work on our financial status. Who came into office and the first rattle out of the box was him spending, spending, spending; He is totally out of touch with the American people and so is Pelosi. His therory appears to be take away from the old people on their Medicare and let's tax more and more. Granted he went into office with a deficit budget, but all we Americans hear is him blaming Bush. Now who has gone crazy with the American peoples money.

Shame on the lawmakers who are afraid to vote yes on health care because they may not win the next election....I thought when people ran for office it was because they wanted to do good for America, the constituents they serve, the community. Instead their decision to run is a career decision... They would rather be career politicans for life rather than serving one or two terms and changing America for the better,,,

obama is correct about it being historic:
Historic deficits, historic take over of our economy, historic loss of freedom, historic damage to our health care system, historic move towards socialism....................

So if my family was in debt by 12 trillion dollars and I promised to add another trillion in debt with promises to cut back later (knowing full well I won’t – i.e. Medicare cuts which will make me lose my job) and then claim to reduce my deficits by 120 billion (not even the interest amount on my current debt), everyone would say I need to go back to college for math and logic.

This is the dumbest idea ever presented by Congress to the American people since amnesty in the 80's and mid 2000's.

America prides its leadership in the world yet fails to show leadership on healthcare even when congres knows that the bil under consideration though not perfect wil help millions of households and help insure 30million more who would otherwise not be. You are more concerned with what your donors will benefit instead. Shame on you congres!
