Bachmann introduces bill to repeal health care reform

'The American people won't ever forget the irresponsible actions of this Administration and Democratic Majority,' Rep. Bachmann said Monday announcing her bill.

'The American people won't ever forget the irresponsible actions of this Administration and Democratic Majority,' Rep. Bachmann said Monday announcing her bill.

Washington (CNN) – Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minnesota, has introduced a bill to repeal Democrats' health care reform legislation, her office announced Monday.

President Obama and Democrats in Congress "have ignored the will of the people and have chosen to ram through their trillion-dollar health care bill despite the American people's overwhelming objection to it," Bachmann said in a written statement.

Despite the long odds of repeal, several prominent Republicans - including former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and House Minority Whip Eric Cantor - have joined the chorus of those calling for the bill to be overturned.

Bachmann said "the American people won't ever forget the irresponsible actions of this Administration and Democratic Majority."

Soon after passage of the historic bill Sunday night in the House, Sen. Jim DeMint, R-South Carolina, also announced plans to seek to repeal the health care reform legislation.

Updated 6:49 p.m.: A spokesman for the Democratic National Committee has responded to Republican calls to repeal Democrats' health care reform legislation. “While Democrats have delivered reform that will make care more affordable and reliable, Republicans would allow insurance companies to continue to charge whatever they wanted for care and take it away when you got sick," DNC national press secretary Hari Sevugan said in a written statement. "Republicans may finally have a plan, but it quite literally is plan to go backwards, and that’s not one we can afford.”

Wow its like the end of the world for some in the U.S.. Nothing like some good ole fear mongering from some people who did not get their way. I guess the rest of the world that has medicare for everyone must be wrong because the Republicans said so.

You got that right. This is one used to be Democrat who says this will cost the Democrats for many years to come. I HOPE IT DOES. If the route they have chosen for the type of leaders they want then it is a party of losers. OBAMA, PELOSI, BIDEN, REID, ETC. All are traitors to the people of the UNITED STATES.

Michelle Bachman is in need of health care herself. The psycho ward would be the best place for her. This lady is a complete fool who talks utter jibberish day after day. Still, she's in the right party that's for sure. Nut jobs the lot of them.

Some of us actually WANT health care reform and should stand up and be counted as such! My sister died a few years ago, at the age of 50, because she couldn't afford health insurance. This bill is a WIN for my sister! Thank you President Obama and everyone who worked so hard to pass this important bill!!

These degenerate republicans have nothing else better to do with their time. Michelle Bachman will be the first one out the door in November. She'll be accompanied Boehner, Cantor & Pence & whatever other obstructionsists there are.

How do you "ram" something that gets a majority 219 votes in the House and super majority 60 votes in the Senate?

Are these people crazy or what? I work in the healthcare industry, I'm A nurse. My co-worker pays $849.00/mo for her family plan and still has a co-pay of $1500.00 to meet for hospitalizations for her , her spouse and each child. I mean this is $1500.00 per person. And they think healthcare doesn't need reforming? Please!!!!!!!!!!!!! But as we all know, the republicans don't care about the little people, they don't want healthcare reform because healthcare is big business.

Sore loser, this reform is very consistant with what Obama promised when he was elected to office. The public had their say when you yohoos were thrown from office. Bachmann, you represent the extreme right end of the republican party, and helped to create the tea party, your opinions are far from consistant with the public so who cares what you think.

    Dear Michele,

Whatever happned tot he prayer meetings you and those senators had, the wish that certain people would not make it to the voting floor?God does not like ugly.
Lesson learnt: when you play nice, respect authority, DO NOT BEAR FASLE WITNESS AGAINST YOUR NEIGHBOUR, LOVE THEY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF, maybe God will lean over to you when you make your requests, before thinking about granting your wishes.

    Take care.

Once the American public actually knows what's in the bills, instead of the mischaracterization of it's misguided opponents, they will be asking to repeal the remainder of whack-job Bachmanns term!

These are the same people that gave tax cuts to the rich through the same exact method, but health care for the little guys doesn't cut it with them. Anyone who's not rich and votes republican should have their voting rights taken away under a new rule called "you're too stupid to vote". Non-rich republicans are just (insert female body part here.) Afraid of this, afraid of that, all the while waving old glory and calling themselves patriots. Well guess what morons, your party put us in this position, our country is cash poor but you stood by while they ran us into the ground, gave their buddies tax breaks, killed our kids, ruined our reputation, and now have the guts to blame this President. Just shut up and let the smart people run the country. Turn off the FOX "news" and think for yourself.
