(CNN) - Vicki Kennedy, wife of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, sat down for an exclusive interview Monday with CNN's John King for the premiere edition of his new primetime show, "John King, USA."

The interview is Kennedy's first since Republican Scott Brown was elected to fill her husband's former seat in the Senate. Kennedy discussed her late husband's legacy and his signature issue of health care reform - less than 24 hours after sweeping health care legislation was passed by the House of Representatives.

Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts passed away in August. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1962 and was serving his ninth term. He called health care reform "the cause of my life."

"John King, USA" airs weeknights at 7 p.m. ET on CNN.
