People: Palin, Discovery reach deal for TV show

According to People, a source with the cable network says the former Alaska governor and Discovery have finally struck a deal after weeks of negotiations that involved several networks. A source told CNN earlier this month that Palin had been pitching a show that would be a "Planet Earth-style" documentary about Alaska.
The Palin source also told CNN of the proposed show: "It's not going to be focused on her family, or in her house, or in Wasilla."
Variety reported Tuesday the show is expected to be called "Sarah Palin's Alaska" and the former Republican vice presidential nominee will likely nab $1 million an episode.
Representatives of the Discovery Channel would not confirm the reports to CNN.

Good for her. Peoples unjustified hatred and jealously blinds them from realizing the wonderful things she has done for Alaska and Alaskans. I'm pleased to see someone rewarded for their sacrifice.

wasn't it just back in 2008 when the McCain campaign along with Sarah palin condemned and basically made fun of then candidate Obama's so-called "rock star" status and the far right agreed with them? Then what in the heck do they think Sarah Palin is doing? Book tours, speeches for big bucks, doing stand up on late night television, working at GOP haven FoxNews, and now pitching her own named television program. I sincerely hope the officials at Discovery have the good sense not to name a program "Sarah Palin's Alaska", if they decide to go through with this. I also hope that her participation would be kept to a bare mininum, since if she runs for a public office this will become an issue of airtime for opponents.
A Planet Earth style show????? Are you kidding me?? Palin has one of the WORST environmental records of any politician. She wasted taxpayer monies on fighting virtually every ESA listing in Alaska, denounced scientific research simply because it did not agree with her agenda and is completely against any environmental regulation that MIGHT infringe on natural resource extraction and/or development. How in the hell can the Discovery Channel giver her a show?? My god is there rampant stupidity running through this network??
