People: Palin, Discovery reach deal for TV show

According to People, a source with the cable network says the former Alaska governor and Discovery have finally struck a deal after weeks of negotiations that involved several networks. A source told CNN earlier this month that Palin had been pitching a show that would be a "Planet Earth-style" documentary about Alaska.
The Palin source also told CNN of the proposed show: "It's not going to be focused on her family, or in her house, or in Wasilla."
Variety reported Tuesday the show is expected to be called "Sarah Palin's Alaska" and the former Republican vice presidential nominee will likely nab $1 million an episode.
Representatives of the Discovery Channel would not confirm the reports to CNN.

I thought the Discovery Channel was a real network that promoted science, education, and knowledge on new innovations.
What idiot from Discovery made this deal with the most uneducated, stupid, non-science knowledgeable, and non-credible person in America??
Discovery, you are losing my patronage and viewing if you go through the deal with the moron Palin. What a horrible representation of the class and quality your programs are known for! Dump Palin or lose your viewership.

Within months she can write a book, do a book tour, get a show on fox, now get another show with some other networks.

Ugh...The intelligence level over at The Discovery Channel just dropped about 40 pounds...
I thought she said that this project was to promote her home state, and is an example of how she planned to still do the state's work after quiting as governor, which is honorable...but why does that mean she should get a million bucks an episode for herself? If it was to the benefit of showing the state in a positive light and for the people for her home state, she shouldn't try to get a huge payday for herself!

And I am sure that the show will accurately describe all of the damage done to Alaska by the oil industry.

America is getting re-introduced to America in a way that is unfiltered by the Voice of Obama.
This is not Sarah Palins Alaska. I would encourage no one to watch. We have more prominent and past examples of good people who have helped Alaska be the Great State it is. Sarah Palin quit as Govenor so she could sell our State for her own profit. We encourage Palin to go home where she came from.
Doesn't Discovery realize that the majority of Americans DID NOT vote for palin – most (the majority) people do not want to watch a program associated with her or especially with her name in the title. Think we need a facebook page about this.
She sure has been busy since she quit her job as Govenor of Alaska, to spend more time with her family.
I have always had a lot of respect for Discover Channel. NOT now!
My family and I enjoy the Discovery Channel quite often, but we will not be tuning in to Sarah Palin's Alaska. And Sarah, as usual is scarffing up on the cash.
She should highlight Alaskan "hunting" practices-shooting animals from helicopters-yes this is true.

Well, bye bye Discovery Channel. Used to be a fan, but not after reading this bit of news. Should you decide not to go through with this deal we will be back. Oh, now we may be able to pay for one tier less since that channel is no longer needed.
As an Alaskan living in a remote village affected by climate change – while all Palin could muster was to send us checks from the oil companies – I can gurantee that Palin's Alaska will not reflect my Alaska, or that of my family that have lived here for generations, from ancient time, long before her kind came to our land.
I use to work at Discovery Communication and have long been an admirer of their work. But to hire this woman who is as anti-environment as they come, ..... I can't even think of words to describe how I feel.
It's not "Sarah Palin's Alaska". And please give me strength. I would enjoy watching a documentary about this extraordinary state, but do I have to listen to Palin in the process?
