Teenager takes Biden to task over cuss word

(CNN) - A 17-year-old student from South Pasadena High School in California took Vice President Joe Biden to task Friday for his use of an un-choice word this week whispered into the ear of President Barack Obama.

"This is a huge deal," McKay Hatch told reporters. "Many kids and adults all over the world look up to Vice President Biden as a role model. He needs to be a good role model for kids and use clean and appropriate language."

Hatch was referring to Biden's "This is a big f............ deal" sotto-voce remark Tuesday to his boss during the signing of the health care bill that was picked up by microphones and amplified around the world.

Hatch called on Biden to apologize, then packed a "No Cussing Club" T-shirt, wrist bands and penalty jar into a box and carried it to the local post office, cameras documenting his every move and utterance. His goal: "to remind him to use good language."

Hatch said he was not opposed to Biden exercising his First Amendment rights. "He has the freedom of speech to say what he wants, but he can't choose the consequences of what he says," the student said. "We need as a country to get back to the basic values and come together and treat people with civility."

Hatch acknowledged that even he is not perfect. "I'm just trying to ask him, you know, think about what you're saying next time. This is about self-control. He's doing a good job; I'm just asking him, you know, try a
little harder."

Hatch's Web site,, claims more than 35,000 members and lists his more than 100 appearances on local and national television programs.

It also sells his book "The No-Cussing Club" ($19.95 + $5.50 postage and handling) and his DVD "The Story of the No-Cussing Club ($29.95 +$6 postage and handling) for sale.

What a joke, all you "tough guy wanna-bees" cheered your celebrity thug the Dick when he used the same word on the floor of the US Senate in a verbal attack to a Senator – that's okay.
But a friendly word between friends using adult language and you get your undies all bunched up? Cry-baby cry.
    Here kitty kitty.

Another point, maybe this one will get posted since CNN obviously doesn't want to post my earlier comment.

I see many people acting a child/teen. At least he is doing something. Perhaps if he was in a gang and dealing drugs there would be other comments. If this is a way he feels he can make a change the perhaps we should applaud him.

So as far as him solving our hunger and homeless problem, maybe the adults in this country should work on that problem, while this young man works on showing others how to use other appropriate language to express themselves.

Cheney's f-bomb was the poster for crude, arrogant 'Publicans bloated with the "success" of a majority (now lost) in the house and senate... taking the country into a downward spiral – the likes of which have never been experienced before!!!

This kid is smart. American kids are smarter than the President and Vice President. This is what it is. Barack Obama has no experience and he is doing whatever he can to destroy our country. Today he made recess appointments and name Becker as one of the nominee while US Chamber of Commerce was against this nomination. What does Barack Obama knows about business and the labor and on the top he says he is doing what American people want. A liar. He is not a decent man. Go away. Take a lesson from this kid.

This is hilarious! This kid can't tolerate bad language, what a wussy! He really out to hear the Tea Party's hateful racial slurs and death threats, then he'll have to make T-shirts for all of them! Oh wait...Of course, he's probably a conservative, like his parents. In that case, he'll be all for it!

How about when 'DICK' Cheney told a senator on the floor to go F' himself.... vice president Biden made this comment at the President's ear not meant as an insult to anybody but more like a celebration of a big accomplishment..

Where are you people coming from taking up for the VP.

This isn't a locker room it's the White House.

So you would think with the VP's big mouth and the importance of this moment mic's would't be on.

How stupid are you and where did you crawl out from under your rock.

The VP should lead by example and all he is showing is no class. VP Biden do you feel about an inch tall yet if not you should. What's the difference in talking like this and someone shouting out you lie. This isn't just a 17 year old it's every person in the United States that should feel ashamed we have a VP that talks like this.

His parents are Teabagger Republicans, trying to hide behind this child to try to discredit a Democrat. Where was this kid when the Republicans used profanity and racial slurs towards Democratic congressmen supporting health care reform? If anything this teenager Republican Teabagger and his parents needs to apologize for the physical attacks, racial slurs, and homophobic slurs indured by Democratic leaders supporting the health care reform bill.

All the prudes can just knock it off! Whatever V .P. Biden whispered to The President was private – NOT public. They had a right to expect privacy becasue of their whispering. The emphasis is on the word private here. The easedropping is what is so wrongful. If you so easedropped on their telephone conversation, you would be a lawbreaker. So let's all mind your our own business.

I bet you same libs were okay with the "job" done on Slick Willie when he was in office.
Or the girl homosexual getting her few minutes of fame over her prom.
Ofcourse, the "f" word is part of your everyday vocabulary.
You libs are "progressive" so it is no big deal to you.
Look what your "progressive movement" has done to America!

Seriously?? Why was there no outrage when right his own back yard a City Councilman talked graphically about banging a prostitute on an open mic. Sounds like someone's parents don't like the administration and is using their children to show their "outrage". More BS.

TOTAL moneymaking scheme. 19.95 for WHAT, kid? Although I must say, charging that much for a book, if people are stupid enough to buy it, is shear genius. His parents taught him how to exploit American gullibility well.

The majority of views expressed here is one indication of just why this country is in the mess it's in. A total disregard for class and decorum, both of which make up part of the core of an individual and lead to a society of more controlled and rational individuals. What a bunch of classless boors this country is becoming.........

Jeremy is right – If you think that adult don't use cuss words, you're in for a surprise. They can be incredibly effective when used tastefully and in the right context. And besides, it's not like he said it INTO the microphone, he said it in Obama's ear and the microphone happened to pick it up....

Hey everybody, CNN here, let's create something out of nothing, especially if it somehow casts Democrats in a bad light. But let's not focus on all the corrupt Republicans.

CNN just where the h##l are ticker articles on the corruption and bribery investigation of the Republican party and Senator Ensign?

Is CNN afraid to post anything about this? There's plenty of trivial fluff about Searchlight, Neavada, but nothing about the Republican Party being served with subpoenas for possible bribery in Nevada.
