Palin warns of 'Second Holocaust' if Iran gains nuclear weapons

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Just minutes after the clock expired on the first day of Passover, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin issued a biting critique of the Obama administration's Middle-East policy."]Washington (CNN) – Just minutes after the clock expired on the first day of Passover, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin issued a biting critique of the Obama administration's Middle-East policy via her Facebook page.

In a post entitled "Peace Not Possible if Iran Escapes Real Sanctions," Palin accuses President Obama of dropping the pursuit of "crippling" sanctions against Iran and treating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu like an "unwelcome guest" during a recent visit to Washington.

"[J]ust as the Obama administration inexplicably gives up on imposing crippling sanctions on Iran, it's taken an uncompromising hard line against one country in the Middle East: Israel," Palin writes. "On his recent visit to Washington, the Israeli Prime Minister was treated like an unwelcome guest, as shown by White House actions such as refusing to be photographed with Israel's Prime Minister."

Palin argues that the Obama administration's actions have failed to rein in Tehran's nuclear ambitions, and that more than one year into Obama's presidency, his administration has made "no progress" on sanctions.

"The Obama administration has their priorities exactly backwards; we should be working with our friend and democratic ally to stop Iran's nuclear program, not throwing in the towel on sanctions while treating Israel like an enemy."

Palin warns that the consequences of a nuclear Iran would be devastating for Israel.

"Iran's leaders have repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel and with nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, the mullahs would be in a position to launch a Second Holocaust," Palin writes.

"We foresee a regional nuclear arms race beginning as other countries seek their own nuclear weapons to protect themselves from Iran. Nuclear non-proliferation efforts would be over," she added.

Last week, President Obama met at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a meeting that was closed to the press. Netanyahu also met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden during his trip to Washington.

The Israeli leader met with administration officials after a show of solidarity with leaders of Congress from both parties, during which he thanked the U.S. lawmakers for their "constant support" and "unflagging" friendship.

Netanyahu's visit came amid a row over Israel's decision to build new Jewish housing on disputed land in East Jerusalem.

This woman should be ashamed of herself! She brings fear mongering to a new level. And I can't understand how anyone can take her "facebook postings" as serious political commentary. It's such a juvenile medium, but I guess that fits her.

It must be so exhausting to be making up lies, innuendos and doomsday scenarios as well as being the supreme 'backseat driver' on everything having to do with governing, it's a wonder she has time to govern her own state of Alaska...oops, sorry, she doesn't, she quit that job.

Israel is going to bring the next "Holocaust" onto themselves if they continue their policies of allowing new construction of Jewish housing is disputed territories. For too long, the US has blindly supported Israel politically, miltiarily and economically in the form of 1 Billion plus dollars per year. I'm glad Obama has the courage to finally stand up and question Israel.

As an American who lives in Lebanon I can tell you without qualification that Sarah Palin does not know what she is talking about regarding Iran. She is promoting the same talk that brought on the war in Iraq by the Bush administration. Her point of view actually encourages nuclear build up. As with all the political bantering, keep your eye on the issue of justice. That is what torks off the Middle East. Holding firm on Israel is the ONLY solution to stop what she is trying to incite here. If you keep in dialogue with the rest of the world, strive towards fairness in the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, you will take away the motivation. Sarah Palin's view is a potential self fullfilling prophecy. Set limits with Israel! Thanks. (corrected typos)

She doesn't know what she's talking about. The meeting with Sarkozy was about stepping up sanctions. Our relationship with Israel is more complex than Palin makes it out to be, but ultimately they will always be our ally and to criticize the treatment of a head of state is nitpicking.

Quite frankly we don't need to hear anymore of this women stupidity. She wasn't creditable as a losing VP candidate and she's far from it now. Each time she opens her mouth you can see why during the presidential race they limited her from specking. I've never in my life time seen a more undeserving public figure. I challenge anyone to name one thing that shes done of any relevance other than doing the state of Alaska a favor and quiting midterm. How anyone would consider this woman a leader is pathetic.

Why does the press give Sarah Palin so much air space? Let's list her accomplishments: Quit her job as governor, co-wrote a book, seeks any crowd that agrees with her and preaches to the converted, finds ways to make money on her "five minutes of fame".
So, why does the media give so much weight to every word this woman utters, and they do it uncritically! I think the American public deserves more than this kind of shallowness.

Bush Jr. caused the power void with Iran by falsely taking us to war with Iraq, Thank God President Obama is still working on this urgent matter, and thank God he did not sending Oliver North to Iran with more plane load of US bombs and technology to appease them and most of all – Thank God he didn’t just quit in the middle of this job because the job was too hard! Just because you can see a country from your back yard and called important allies and world ugly does mean you have the experience or knowledge to deal with these matters. My advice – stop spiking your Tea.

How can anyone entertain the notion that she actually a) came up with this thought on her own and b) actually wrote the FB post?

What needs to be done by the US is to stop lettinf Israel dictate US policy. In all of these years the US has stood up for this country everytime, but they have never made this country adhere to any policies set forth by the UN. Every time the Un has issued a ruling againt Israel or wanted Israel to agree to do or not so something, they have never had to listen and follow the UN. Everytime! You can check the facts and you will find that Israel never complies with Un authority. They will not admit or deny to having nuclear weapons, and they will not allow the Un to check either. So if they are allowed to get away with this for all these years then why does anyone have the right to say what Iran has to obey Obama or the UN. Palin most likely has never looked into the past about Israel and she should "bone" up on her history before opening her mouth. I would bet that she has no idea that the entire US policy for that region is based on the US having Israel as a base for military so we can keep an eye on all that oil. With Israel as a base we are one hour juet time from anywhere inthe region incase of any conflict. Sarah should read the policy that was est. in 1948 for Israel and the region in conjuntion with US policy. Frankly it is time we stop siding with Israel over everything, and stay out of some of those other nations affairs. Palin was a small time, half term govenor that could not even finish her four years in office before she quit, why do people listen to her. She has no worldly experience, and very very little as a serious political person in the US. She just wants "rock star" status and to be a highly paid "pop" celeb.

Way to politicize a delicate situation, Palin. Please stop trying to use the tension in the Middle East for your party's own political gain. You disgust me.

Also, when talking about sanctions against Iran you have to tread carefully. If you impose tough sanctions indescriminately you risk hurting the Iranian people more than the government itself. That will just lead to more anti-western sentiment, which sows the seeds of terrorism.

With regard to Israel, yes, we are allies but that doesn't mean we have to approve of everything they do. Does the land on which Israel is building legally belong to them? Yes. However, the land is heavily disputed. In such a volatile environment it would behoove Israel to show some restraint , especially when Benjamin Netanyahu claims to be an advocate for peace.

Sarah is right on. Obama and his gang of socio-communists have abandoned one of our staunchest alies. The U.S Jewish population must finally "get wise" to what Obama is doing!!! His meeting yesterday with the French President to announce tougher sanctions on Iran was a joke!! The U.S. jews voted overwhemingly for this Turban lover and they have got to see that he has thrown their homeland under the bus!!! They must take care of this matter this coming November as well as in November of 2012!!

My comment is more of a question. Why do we contiunue to give this woman air time. I believe this time could be better spent focusing on economic issues that are affecting millions of Americans.

Her time has come and gone (thank God). We don't need a quitter in our already screwed up political body.
