Palin warns of 'Second Holocaust' if Iran gains nuclear weapons

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Just minutes after the clock expired on the first day of Passover, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin issued a biting critique of the Obama administration's Middle-East policy."]Washington (CNN) – Just minutes after the clock expired on the first day of Passover, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin issued a biting critique of the Obama administration's Middle-East policy via her Facebook page.

In a post entitled "Peace Not Possible if Iran Escapes Real Sanctions," Palin accuses President Obama of dropping the pursuit of "crippling" sanctions against Iran and treating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu like an "unwelcome guest" during a recent visit to Washington.

"[J]ust as the Obama administration inexplicably gives up on imposing crippling sanctions on Iran, it's taken an uncompromising hard line against one country in the Middle East: Israel," Palin writes. "On his recent visit to Washington, the Israeli Prime Minister was treated like an unwelcome guest, as shown by White House actions such as refusing to be photographed with Israel's Prime Minister."

Palin argues that the Obama administration's actions have failed to rein in Tehran's nuclear ambitions, and that more than one year into Obama's presidency, his administration has made "no progress" on sanctions.

"The Obama administration has their priorities exactly backwards; we should be working with our friend and democratic ally to stop Iran's nuclear program, not throwing in the towel on sanctions while treating Israel like an enemy."

Palin warns that the consequences of a nuclear Iran would be devastating for Israel.

"Iran's leaders have repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel and with nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, the mullahs would be in a position to launch a Second Holocaust," Palin writes.

"We foresee a regional nuclear arms race beginning as other countries seek their own nuclear weapons to protect themselves from Iran. Nuclear non-proliferation efforts would be over," she added.

Last week, President Obama met at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a meeting that was closed to the press. Netanyahu also met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden during his trip to Washington.

The Israeli leader met with administration officials after a show of solidarity with leaders of Congress from both parties, during which he thanked the U.S. lawmakers for their "constant support" and "unflagging" friendship.

Netanyahu's visit came amid a row over Israel's decision to build new Jewish housing on disputed land in East Jerusalem.

Her foreign policy knowledge is just about zero. Thank God she wasn't elected VP! Harsh sanctions are the one thing (other than outright attack by Israel) that would push Iran to more seriously consider bombing Israel. The US, UK and France let the nuclear genie out of the bottle in the mid-east when they (UK, France) helped Israel develop nuclear capabilities, and we stood by passively (and actually let Israel spy on us for nuclear technology). This is a complicated dynamic that will not be safely addressed by Palin's (and indeed, most of the right's) overly simplistic thinking.

This lady needs to shut up. Enough playing with words. If she is that smart and clever and has something to say, she should put it in a real medium not face book. She is a blabbing loser who had 15 minutes of fame and fighting very hard to keep in the lime light and at any cost. She would say anything to stir up crowds and she is not that smart or clever. A great example of the un-cultured, un-educated, got my chance by luck and I will kiss-up to get somewhere trash mentality of America.

One big problem Mrs. I-Can-See-Russia-From-My-Backyard: If we try to impose "crippling" sanctions on Iran, they will go straight to China for their business like Zimbabwe and Sudan have, and then US will really lose its influence. The game has changed; US needs to stop trying to act like it cracks the whip on the rest of the world.

Palin is a danger to this country and the entire world. Her words are more militant than politics.

This woman is very dangerous for this country. If her and McCain was running things, we would be at war all over the country. She is inciting a war with the middle east.

I trust Sarah's opinion on Foreign Policy as much as I trust her opinion on all things. Not at all.

Sarah Palin has the cliff notes version of the Mid East. Building more settlement's is what got Netanyahu in trouble with the Obama administration and the EU which happen to be the biggest supporters of Israel.

Your made for sound bite pronouncements on the world conditions are boring and shallow.

The last underqualified Republican administration used this sound bite mentality to invade and go to war with the wrong country. (Remember the no nation building pledge of the Bush 2000 campaign).

That little screw up will cost more than the health-care you are so adamantly against.

So if the Obama administration is moving to slow for you on the Iranian issue I would load up your tea party buddies and invade who ever in the hell you like just don't take my kids along for the ride this time

Why it that OBAMA does not get it , ISRAEL has nucelar weapons and there is a HIGH PROABILITY that ISRAEL will take out Iran with airstikes and might use a nuke on Iran. Don't bet it cannot happen.

Absolutely! And I'm sure Ms. Palin could've done so much better if she were in power. Why she could've winked and flirted with Netanyahu during his visit and warn Iran that she's a pitbull with lipstick. I'm sure Iran would've trembled at the thought and immediately dismantle their nuclear facilities.

Consider the source, roughly 14 months ago this is the same women who couldn't identify an applicable news journal and instead said she read "People Magazine". Now we are supposed to take anything she says with more than a grain of salt.

And how do you know this Palin. So you think that Iran could eliminate Israel. If no one has told you Israel already has a stockpile of nuclear and biological weapons. Iran does not have the weapons to match Israel. So Palin before you talk about a Holocaust know your facts.y

I continue to be amazed at Ms. Palin's unsurpassed expertise when it comes to governing our country. Clearly, we'd be so much better off if it were she leading our nation rather than President Obama. I can't wait to cast my vote for her in 2012!!! Is that the Easter bunny I hear at my front door?

Israel has been enabled by US vetoes and funding and weapons to blow off UN Resolution 242 since 1967, and their "settling" of lands occupied by Arabs and Muslims for many centuries in violation of the Geneva Conventions and dozens of UN resolutions makes them the consummate "rogue nation" in defiance of all manner lof international law, with their hundreds of nukes a stark violation of the NPT. Iran has attacked no nation in 400 years.....neither Israel nor the U.S. can go even four years without attacking a why do both villify Iran?
