Palin warns of 'Second Holocaust' if Iran gains nuclear weapons

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Just minutes after the clock expired on the first day of Passover, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin issued a biting critique of the Obama administration's Middle-East policy."]Washington (CNN) – Just minutes after the clock expired on the first day of Passover, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin issued a biting critique of the Obama administration's Middle-East policy via her Facebook page.

In a post entitled "Peace Not Possible if Iran Escapes Real Sanctions," Palin accuses President Obama of dropping the pursuit of "crippling" sanctions against Iran and treating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu like an "unwelcome guest" during a recent visit to Washington.

"[J]ust as the Obama administration inexplicably gives up on imposing crippling sanctions on Iran, it's taken an uncompromising hard line against one country in the Middle East: Israel," Palin writes. "On his recent visit to Washington, the Israeli Prime Minister was treated like an unwelcome guest, as shown by White House actions such as refusing to be photographed with Israel's Prime Minister."

Palin argues that the Obama administration's actions have failed to rein in Tehran's nuclear ambitions, and that more than one year into Obama's presidency, his administration has made "no progress" on sanctions.

"The Obama administration has their priorities exactly backwards; we should be working with our friend and democratic ally to stop Iran's nuclear program, not throwing in the towel on sanctions while treating Israel like an enemy."

Palin warns that the consequences of a nuclear Iran would be devastating for Israel.

"Iran's leaders have repeatedly called for the destruction of Israel and with nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, the mullahs would be in a position to launch a Second Holocaust," Palin writes.

"We foresee a regional nuclear arms race beginning as other countries seek their own nuclear weapons to protect themselves from Iran. Nuclear non-proliferation efforts would be over," she added.

Last week, President Obama met at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a meeting that was closed to the press. Netanyahu also met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden during his trip to Washington.

The Israeli leader met with administration officials after a show of solidarity with leaders of Congress from both parties, during which he thanked the U.S. lawmakers for their "constant support" and "unflagging" friendship.

Netanyahu's visit came amid a row over Israel's decision to build new Jewish housing on disputed land in East Jerusalem.

She just continues to make a fool of herself.

There is no credibility in anything she says.

Her recent interviews with McCain were embarrassing for him and VERY telling about her willingness to humiliate him to further her own agendas as well as his desperation to try and save his seat. Sad.

Why do you keep reporting what this person thinks? Who cares? I am sure that half term quitter Palin could give a rats ass about Israel. She probably couldn't even find it on a map. But it sounds like she is sooooo informed on foreign policy and that her opinion matters. Her myopic opinion counts no more than any other individual's opinion in this country. It is the constant CNN soap opera reporting of this woman that continues to imply that she is credible and of significance. She loves it I am sure but I find it a waste of valuable reporting space. Why not put it to better use reporting on worthy topics such as global issues, our economy, etc.

Palin is awesome. I mean from thousands of miles away and with her lacking the ability to affect my life in any meaningful way, she's awesome. Keep the insights and wisdom coming!

This is the same woman who told Katie Couric we should go along with whatever Israel does regardless of the consequences.

This twit needs to shut up about things she knows nothing about. $20 says she can't even find Israel or Iran on a map.

Sarah Palin's comment about Iran posing a nuclear threat inline with the holocaust is not unfathomable as I also believe that Iran's ulterior motive is for the devastation of Israel. Anyhow, she is always being very bias in her opinion toward President Obama and his administration as is all other republicans. It would be good to get an objective view from her. It does not matter what good the president has done, it is still classified as being bad. Now let's address the issue of Isreal. Vice President Biden went to Israel to show the USA's support and to forge ahead with peace discussion initiatives. What did Israel do? It's interior minister announces that they approve 1600 new housing units in the disputed east Jerusalem, embarrassing the USA in the process. Then Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came to Washington D.C. in the President's backyard and held a meeting with pro-Israeli personnel (no problem with that) in the presence of media and stated that Israel will continue to develop Jerusalem as plan for the housing units because Jerusalem is not a settlement it is Israel's capital (Problem with that. He further embarrassed the USA). I do not disagree with the Prime Minister but he should have been more diplomatic in his approach seen that Israel relies on USA for both military and financial support in an hostile region. When the Prime Minister had held the said position before and even other Israeli Prime Minister, they never seek to embarrassed other U.S . president's. I wonder if President Obama being a blackman caused many of these republicans to now have gotten blinded and instead are trying to milk a bad situation for political gains. If it was John McCain in as president would Israel announce housing expansion in the disputed area while the vice president is visiting? Would the republicans be silent if the Prime Minister behaved the way he did in Washington if it was John McCain the president. Let's be all honest and objective in our assessment. It does not matter who the president is, Israel embarrassed the U.S.A. The next issue is, crippling sanctions against Iran. Is Sarah Palin thinking straight? Such action would only fuel extremism in Iran and the middle east. The Political and Religious would use it to fuel the populous to anger against the USA and in the process set back progress. Diplomacy is the way to go along with embargo. Crippling sanction will hurt the Iranian people. If that is done and the Iranian leaders are able to muster more extremism in the region, the same republicans would say President Obama and his administration should have sought diplomatic avenues instead. It does not matter what President Obama do he will always be wrong for the republicans. If he save their mothers and fathers, they will complain that he prevent them from getting their inheritance. God help us if the republicans get their way. It will only be war and rumors of war on the face of the earth. The republicans would like nothing more than to bomb Iran, Russia Cuba, China and North Korea. The ordinary people in these country are hostages to their leaders. Let change take place from within. It occurred in November of 2008 in the USA after the republicans seem only to care about war while ignoring the domestic issues. President Obama inherited the worst condition any president has ever taken office in. Yes his administratiion made some mistake and miscalculation earlier on but I see progress as they are getting hold of the issues. They got health care reform out of way and the econcomy is on the rebound. Now they are opening up the east coast for oil drilling so as to make the USA more enegy independent. What are the republicnas saying here. Will they give him and his administration some credit and begin to cooperate or will they continue on their obstructionist path. Let us wait and see what is next from Sarah Palin and her gang of republican critics.

You've got to be kidding... And as moronic and inflammatory as her half-witted message is, even more frightening is the number of people who follow her, believing every asinine word that she utters.

Imagine this birdbrain in the White House... (shudder). We'd be inches away from instant annihilation.

Gov. Palin lies........Well actually, she issues half truths instead of giving the entire fact of a matter.
It was former Sec. of State Baker, a republican, who has consistently, and as recently as on Mike Huckabee's show, intelligently said, that if we strike Iran, it will only postpone their nuclear weapon pursuit. It will not stop them from getting a nuke.......Unless we go to full blown war.......Any force of aggression on Iran, will also hurt the Iranian people, not the hard line regime.........
Imposing strong sanctions will work, however it takes time.......something this microwave ready country has long lacked as a virtue.....patience. America will never let Israel down......However as we all argue w/ our family from time to time, it should not be looked at as freakish, if Israel, and America bump heads from time to time.

I wonder which one of these radical christian militia Sarah Palin is affiliated with. She wants to "take back the government" and predicts she Hitler's reincarnation? How much of our freedom of speech is too much in her case?

I'll give her some credit for knowing something about a second holocaust, because it was her type that gave us the first holocaust. She is the modern version of rightwing fanaticism, she is the self-described christian version of the Islamic militants.....she probably has some good insights into the rightwing dogma that drives the Iranian theocracy, because that is her very vision for America.

So, I agree with her, Iran should not have nuclear weapons. But neither would any SANE person let HER gain control of nuclear weapons. People who voted for this half-baked neo-monkey as part of McCains's ticket in 2008 need to enroll in some aggressive gene therapy......something has contaminated your else to you expalin such blatant stupidity?

This is where reading a paper once in a while would come in handy Sarah. First Israel isn't perfect, and once in a while it's good to remind them what they can expect if they color outside the lines. Second didn't the President just spend the day with the French President dealing with the Iranian issue. Third and finally yes after one year we have not resoled an issue that's been lingering for nine. I'm sure she could have wagged her fingers, said something cutsie, and fixed the whole mess.

Does she not realize the injustice of Israli settlements - and the fact that they are a central issue that inflames the Arab countries?

Does she not realize that to reduce likelihood of a new war in the Middle East, we need to hold Israel to a higher standard at the same time as being tough with Iran?

Does she not have Jewish friends as I do, who think Israel needs to stop building settlements?

Every day, I thank the Good Lord that he didn't put Sarah Palin in the White House.

More hate speech from 'hatriot' Palin. What a suprise.

Someone who claims to love America but hates the majority of the people who actually live there. Hatriots often romanticize small towns and rural areas, which they view as the "Real America", and they mistrust large cities, which are full of liberal elites, colored people, and the undeserving poor.
