Rove encourages Census participation

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/04/05/art.rove.census.youtube.jpg caption ="Karl Rove appears in a Census PSA released Monday."]Washington (CNN) - In a new video, released Monday by the U.S. Census Bureau, former George W. Bush senior adviser Karl Rove encourages Americans to participate in the 2010 Census, saying "it's not too late."

The public service announcement, already available online, runs 51 seconds and features Rove speaking about the history of the Census.

"One of my favorite founders is James Madison, principal author of the Constitution," Rove says in the spot. "He created an instrument of democracy by writing into the Constitution a requirement for a Census every ten years to ensure fair representation in Congress. If you've not yet mailed back your 2010 Census form, it's not too late. Please answer the ten easy questions. They are almost the same ones Madison helped write for the first Census back in 1790."

According to a statement from the U.S. Census Bureau, Rove's PSA is designed to remind residents that they have just over two weeks to mail back their census forms to avoid a visit from a census worker in early May.

Some people fear that low participation among conservatives could result in Democrats having a big advantage in the next round of congressional re-districting.

Rove is not the only public figure to tape a PSA for the Census. The varied list includes President Obama, Miss America Caressa Cameron and singer Donny Osmond.

I think we should all cooperate with census, of course. But if there were ever a reason not to, Rove's promotion would be it.

I don't get it. Why is the Census Bureau using Karl, Bush's turd blossom, Rove as a mouth piece. Don't they know Bush is back in Texas and Rove is irrelevant to anything the government is doing in 2010?

What??? I thought it was a government conspiracy??

I was hoping all the Fox wingnuts would listen to the crazies over there and not fill it out. You would get what you deserve for being a bigot...NO MONEY FOR YOUR COMMUNITY.

which would leave more money for communities with minorities and non Fox followers...but then you would say it's reverse racism...instead of recognizing how stupid you are.
