Fey likely to revive Palin impersonation

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

(CNN) - Writers for Saturday Night Live likely completed a sketch featuring Tina Fey's infamous impersonation of Sarah Palin Tuesday, Fey told NBC's the Today Show.

Fey, a onetime cast member of the late night comedy program who is set to serve as its host this weekend, said she hasn't seen the sketch yet but will do an initial run through of it Wednesday.

"I am going to read through later today and see what's up. They wrote last night," Fey said. "I am sure we will try something."

Fey, whose impersonations of Palin in 2008 were widely-credited with shaping perceptions of the then-Republican vice presidential nominee, told the U.K. paper The Telegraph earlier this week she hasn't been keeping up with Palin's latest moves.

"I haven't been watching her on television lately because I've been working on '30 Rock,'" she said.

While Fey's impersonation of Palin won wide praise, the comedienne indicated back in 2008 it's not a character she is keen on reviving.

"I want to be done playing this lady Nov. 5," she said in reference to Election Day, 2008. "So if anybody can help me be done playing this lady Nov. 5, that would be good for me."

Tina Fey is great, but this time around Palin is not just an amusing curiosity, she has become a money hungry demagogue who will say anything to incite the passions of the reactionary right and keep her own face in the news. Somehow I do not think that is funny.

Nothing like humor to demonize those you disagree with. unfortunate for Ms. Palin that Fey is her doppleganger.

So Tina Fey doesn't like Sarah, and the networks leftist armies think Sarah is becoming too popular again and want Tina to do a little character assaination again, thats news ?

Don't get me wrong, the impersonation was pretty good, but I think Tina needs to examine her morals if the intention of her act is not 100% entertainment.

Fey, but you display her, Sara, so well. I can also understand being sick of personating her.

Noooooo, the perception of Palin was shaped by reality. The perception was created by her comments, speeches, interviews and actions.
Tina Fey's impersonation was a reflection of that perception. Her impersonation was spot on. It was funny because it was true.

Tina, you'll have plenty of material to use. Whenever Palin opens her mouth or reads from her palm, she makes a bigger fool out of herself.

The only problem to have Tina Fey play Sarah Palin is that between the two of them, Tina is the only one who's qualified to serve in an elected office in this nation. She'll have to dial down her intelligence not just a notch, but about several turns of the dial.

I saw Fey making fun of Oprah yesterday and it wasn't the least bit accurate or funny. How can you screw up making fun of Oprah?!! If your going to make a career out of making fun of people, at least have something more than looking like the person!

Good – and expose this fear-mongering, advocate of violence

The SNL people thought that after the election
their attempted destruction of Palin would have
    been complete.
Tina Fey said she was done with Palin.
Make no mistake about it. This renewel of the Palin
assault is not for entertainment. It is politically
motivated because of her increased popularity with
    the American people.
She is speaking in a town of 7,500 people later this
month and the expected turnout is over 10,000.
And don't believe all the bull about her followers
    being crackpots.
Her followers will most likely elect the next President.
Now sit back and watch the name calling directed at
Palin by the Caffertys, Maddows, Mathews, Obermans,
    and Lettermens of the world.

Fey is a wacked out loony lib, but knows a meal ticket when she sees one. If Palin was not so wildly popular, then Tina would be sitting around trying to think up more unfunny gag lines for that show of hers, the name of which I cannot remember, if it has not already been cancelled.

This is great. Tina's impersonation is dead on and sarah palin is someone that should always be made fun of because she is ridiculous.
