Fey likely to revive Palin impersonation

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

(CNN) - Writers for Saturday Night Live likely completed a sketch featuring Tina Fey's infamous impersonation of Sarah Palin Tuesday, Fey told NBC's the Today Show.

Fey, a onetime cast member of the late night comedy program who is set to serve as its host this weekend, said she hasn't seen the sketch yet but will do an initial run through of it Wednesday.

"I am going to read through later today and see what's up. They wrote last night," Fey said. "I am sure we will try something."

Fey, whose impersonations of Palin in 2008 were widely-credited with shaping perceptions of the then-Republican vice presidential nominee, told the U.K. paper The Telegraph earlier this week she hasn't been keeping up with Palin's latest moves.

"I haven't been watching her on television lately because I've been working on '30 Rock,'" she said.

While Fey's impersonation of Palin won wide praise, the comedienne indicated back in 2008 it's not a character she is keen on reviving.

"I want to be done playing this lady Nov. 5," she said in reference to Election Day, 2008. "So if anybody can help me be done playing this lady Nov. 5, that would be good for me."

  2. Another Liberal Conformist

Tina Fey is just another dim-witted liberal who wins meaningless "awards" given to her from like-minded liberals. Can you say "Katie Couric?"

Liberals fall for that pretentious Janeane Garofalo (I wear glasses so I must be smart) look. Sorry Tina, now go shine your hollow and worthless Emmy.

SNL needs to grow some balls and take on the left. Sadly they are bought and paid for by their masters at GE and NBC. Gutless conformists all.

Afraid of Palin? No ... more concerned her "fans" (a form of the word fanatic – and Lord knows, we have enough of them) will try and put someone who believes a "palm" pilot means writing your notes on your hand – then waving with that same cheating hand in office! Really scary that SNL didn't have to create humor: just used actual Palin quotes!

Well, Truth. I think you're wrong. So does the majority of the public, based on how Tina's impersonation was recieved.

Who cares if Sarah is conservative or republican? The woman is ridiculous and apparently empty-headed.

The SNL guy who does Obama is really good, too. He could say some real funny stuff like "let's reduce our nuclear weapons even if no one else will, and let's stop calling them Islamic extremists as this might hurt their feelings ... let's all just live in peace and harmony ... I'm sure the terrorists will be on board with us. Oh wait ... I can see Iran's nuclear program from my house... no problem, may they grow and prosper." Good stuff. That's rich. Ha. ha.

At least Tina doesn't want to blow up her own home state to smithereens in search of black gold so she can become a member of the backwoods billionaire club. Sarah is a tool, she doesn't stand for anything. Her puppet masters thought her "attractiveness" and "folksy" persona would be the perfect face for their movement to "take back America". Sorry guys, you had America for 8 years and you flushed it down the toilet. But we haven't forgotten your true agenda.

Some seem to think SNL is picking on Palin, but just about everyone, even President Obama, have been imitated on that show. Chill. It's a show that makes us laugh. America has always laughed about its politics and everything else. Are we losing our sense of humor?

Sarah Palin's intellect. The comical gift that keeps on giving.

Enough of that lame impression already. Sarah Palin should paint a giant scar on her face and do a lame impression of Tina Fey. that would be about as entertaining.

All the Republicans seem to think that Sara Palin is the answer to their fundraising needs. She seems to be appearing with everyone. Come fall, however, she will be a noose around their necks because independents can't stand her any more than those of us with some common sense.

Palin's success is a direct reflection of the decline of intellect of this country.

And, Tina Fey is actually funny. Or at least doesn't have to have a laugh track edited in when her jokes elicit boos and hisses and silence. Yeah, remember Palin's attempt at humor... she should stick to what she knows. Husslin for media attention.

If Sarah Palin had half the brain of Tina Fey, she would be the VP and a heartbeat away from being the most powerful person in the world. And by jolly, a little flash of to John 'woman-chaser' McCain and he would have kicked the bucket..

Someone said we are afraid of Sarah Palin. What outer world did you just fly in from? Alaska? Only people from Alaska are dumb enough to elect her to any thing!

Quote "Tina, isn't it sad the high point of your career is imitating somebody else?! Maybe it's time to get on with a real career?"

Tina Fey is a comedian...an entertainer. That is her career and she is very sucessful. Msny people in politics have been imitated and mocked by entertainers in the past. JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Carter etc.... Palin is only threatend because she ran for an office she was not ready for.

I say go Tina...make us laugh!!

  20. Repugnants are the US Taliban

Too bad Fey cannot run for office AS Palin, she is at least ten times smarter than Palin will ever be and might be worth voting for whereas Palin is nothing but a stupid dumb joke.

Tina Fey is funny; Sarah Palin is a joke. We don't want nags running in the Kentucky Derby. We don't want little leaguers in the World Series. And we don't need people with average intelligence as presidents. Didn't we learn our lesson with Bush 43?

What? Okay to scream out at the president or elected official in a bonifide meeting or session- but it's "not right" for a commediene to poke fun at a character in the news? Oh, please, grow up, or go tell your mother.
