Fey likely to revive Palin impersonation

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

(CNN) - Writers for Saturday Night Live likely completed a sketch featuring Tina Fey's infamous impersonation of Sarah Palin Tuesday, Fey told NBC's the Today Show.

Fey, a onetime cast member of the late night comedy program who is set to serve as its host this weekend, said she hasn't seen the sketch yet but will do an initial run through of it Wednesday.

"I am going to read through later today and see what's up. They wrote last night," Fey said. "I am sure we will try something."

Fey, whose impersonations of Palin in 2008 were widely-credited with shaping perceptions of the then-Republican vice presidential nominee, told the U.K. paper The Telegraph earlier this week she hasn't been keeping up with Palin's latest moves.

"I haven't been watching her on television lately because I've been working on '30 Rock,'" she said.

While Fey's impersonation of Palin won wide praise, the comedienne indicated back in 2008 it's not a character she is keen on reviving.

"I want to be done playing this lady Nov. 5," she said in reference to Election Day, 2008. "So if anybody can help me be done playing this lady Nov. 5, that would be good for me."

Tina Fey: "If anybody can help me be done playing this lady...that would be good for me".

Sorry Tina – there isn't any other politically-self-serving individual that we can dumb down that far for you to play.

It's so hard to satirize someone who is already a joke.

Fey is too smart to play Palin. Hell, a rock is too smart to play Palin.
Actually I look forward to seeing more mockery of the thriller from Wasilla being shown as the iclueless dolt she really is. I saw the SLN Coric interview first, then was FLOORED when I saw the real thing. How could anyone that dumb have the cods to show her face in public?
We had eight years of stupid with Bush, so why would anyone in their right mind want four years of a female equivelant?

She is exactly what our political scene needs. Someone with a sense of humor.

This story lacks depth. I think this story was written just to get the Obmabots salivating. Funny is funny and we all should be willing to poke fun at politicians, however it is clear that Tina is only doing this act again for personal politically reasons. Simply a desperate attempt to harm anthers reputation. Tina is quickly turning into a one act play.

Oh good, Tina Fey had that impersonation down to a T. It was the only reason I watched SNL because Tina was so hilarious.

    That's great.

You got to love her impressions, and her ability to accentuate the absurd in the quitter from Wasilla.

Comedy may be the best foil to the lies of Sarah, a charismatic faux-patriot with absolutely no sense of decency.

Yep.....Dem/Liberal (all the self-same animal) are following the "play book" drawn up by Obamanites......Attack and destroy......Palin is getting too strong, so go for her again, what you Demliberals do not understand is what we conservative Americans are being driven by is the Obama policies.......which is: Make America more like the UK, Canada, and other Socialistic nations! We are only strengthened and motivated by your constant attacks of slander on other Conservative Americans! The Demliberal machine will lose and lose big because of this and no other reason!

So many hilarious antics coming from Caribou Barbie in the past year, can't wait to see what the writer's have chosen to highlight. They could do an all week, all day long SNL and still wouldn't be able to stop writing skits.....Go Tina Go!!!

I don't think the author quite got the message Tina was sending when she said she wanted to "be done playing with this lady Nov. 5..."

Knowing Tina, though, SP will be "done" to perfection...crispy and just a wee bit seared.

Fey should just act like herself and confuse the public making them think palin has an once of brains.

Last time Tina Fey did this, Palin dissapeared for a while. Now that she's back with the angry Tea Partier, it's time to bring Tina back to neutralize her. Go Tina!

one of the best things about Tina Fey's Palin impersonation is just clearing showing what a dingbat wingnut Palin is. There for all to see. Singlehandedly pushed her to the fringe margins of political life. Thank you for Saving America Tina Fey!

Of course she's reviving the skit...nothing else Tina is doing these days is getting her any publicity. Tina's work is getting tired, not so many awards this year. Sarah is one of the best things that's come along for Tina lately, for sure!

We do not need to see more of the idiot Tina Fey making fun of Palin. Where are all of the comics that should be poking fun at Obama?? How come he is off limits???!

It would be great if Palin had one tenth the brain Tina Fey has. In fact Tina Fey is more qualified to be president than Palin.

Of course, she has do something. She is such a talentless performer on dinosaur TV that some poor soul thinks she's still relevant. The joke's on her. Palin has become more popular while she still wallows in crap. Can't wait to see her new movie....Oh, wait, all I have to do is splice any appearance she's had and it's the same act!

I am not a real big Palin fan, actually kinda get a kick out of the impersonations they are funny. However for SNL and Tina to dedicate the impersonation skits to specifically attack her is a shame. They know a good thing when they see it, They'll make a bunch of $$ and good ratings impersonating her. Getting in their digs and attacking her early will also be key, Bollywood and the Left are a little worried about comming elections I think.

This election vote, vote Left, Right or Center but vote and think before you mark that X.

How could Tina Fey not do Palin – she has so much material to work with and it would be hilarious. Hope she wears that leather jacket. It's just fun to see her do this character. Tina is not a mean person, but really, that's what SNL is all about. Having fun with politicians.
