Fey likely to revive Palin impersonation

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

(CNN) - Writers for Saturday Night Live likely completed a sketch featuring Tina Fey's infamous impersonation of Sarah Palin Tuesday, Fey told NBC's the Today Show.

Fey, a onetime cast member of the late night comedy program who is set to serve as its host this weekend, said she hasn't seen the sketch yet but will do an initial run through of it Wednesday.

"I am going to read through later today and see what's up. They wrote last night," Fey said. "I am sure we will try something."

Fey, whose impersonations of Palin in 2008 were widely-credited with shaping perceptions of the then-Republican vice presidential nominee, told the U.K. paper The Telegraph earlier this week she hasn't been keeping up with Palin's latest moves.

"I haven't been watching her on television lately because I've been working on '30 Rock,'" she said.

While Fey's impersonation of Palin won wide praise, the comedienne indicated back in 2008 it's not a character she is keen on reviving.

"I want to be done playing this lady Nov. 5," she said in reference to Election Day, 2008. "So if anybody can help me be done playing this lady Nov. 5, that would be good for me."

That Palin gig ensures she gets a lot more job offers from the loons in her business. She should be a Republican.

Ah Great. Finally we have a use for Sarah (numb nuts) Palin the gift of stupid that just keeps on giving. Personally I've always found her to be a tremendous source of comedic life. Also I don't really care how much money she makes it just shows up how the American Education system is broken particularly in the southern states. Boy she really gives you guys a bad name

"Tina indicated back in 2008 it's not a character she is keen on reviving, I think it's probably a bit embarassing for her to play an airheaded bimbo.

Why don't we just make Fey a Republican candidate and Palin making fun of her? Fey at least has some talent and does not have to try to memorize what she needs to say ... She is obviously very well spoken and talented person, she won't have any problems memorizing some names of foreign heads of state ...

I can't believe that after C- president leaving country in C- stage there is another C- candidate on the horizon that actually has some momentum ... Boy, God help us all if we get another C- president. And Gog help the world too!

The only good thing that ever came out of Palin is the best impersonation of her by the beautiful and talented Tina Fey. Hope you make her look even stupider than usual Tina, if that's possible?

I have been waiting for this, she has to do the hand thing and please do the maverick thing with somebody playing McCain sitting in back rolling his eyes, I love it.

Fey makes a much better Palin than Palin does. Keep up the great work, Tina! We love laughing at Palin, whether it's you or the "real" thing.

Welcome back Tina. You'll never know how much we need you right now. We are in desperate need of a good laugh and I'm sure we all admit that there hasn't been anyone around lately that can light up our lives like you do.

I think it is time we focus on the positive aspects of Governor Palin instead of how she was an inept Governor and her inability to grasp foreign policy of America. How about emphasizing on her good looks and appeal to the middle America? How about emphasizing her ability of moose hunting and fishing? How about her cooking ability instead? How about her strengths rather than her weaknesses?

That's the difference between Tina and Sarah. Tina is interested in doing good creative work to make money. Sarah's only interest is making the money. The simple fact that a television actor displays so much more integrity than an aspirant for public leadership speaks volumes about the sorry state of American politics.

Could you imagine what would happen if a conservative were to pretend to be Obama, complete with the same hateful, ignorant, and lie ridden stereotypes that Fey uses with Palin on Obama?

Yeah, you can say this double standard is about race, but is it?

How can you explain then why the lib media and every Democrat endorses, supports, and engages in racism against Thomas, Rice, and Steele?

The only problem here is that when she speaks Tina Fey is obviously a good deal smarter and better spoken than Palin. This somewhat detracts from her portrayals of Palin although she has those down pat!!!

Can't wait to see the latest SNL version!!

Tina hasn't been watching Palin lately so I guess she'll need to write everything in her palm that way she won't have to study. LOL

  19. Too True For You

Tina Fey makes a far more intelligent and better looking Palin than Palin.

    Plus it's hilarious.

I know the cult of Palin gets all poopy drawered about it, but that's only because the impersonation is too real for their comfort.

Can't wait for SNL again. Fey is almost better at Palin than Palin herself. I'd like to see her with a giant hand with writing all over it, or how about her new TV show Palin going rouge in Alaska. So much material, so little time.

I notice in another column, the joining of Sarah Palin andMichelle Bachmann for some meeting. Now there's another truly weird person that lends herself to caricature. Michelle Bachmann..Maybe S.N.L. should look around for one of your "buddiies" to take a whack at this sorry disgrace of an elected official. She almost {not quite} makes Sarah look smart.Welcome back Tina.
