Fey likely to revive Palin impersonation

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

Tina Fey is likely to bring back her Sarah Palin impersonation.

(CNN) - Writers for Saturday Night Live likely completed a sketch featuring Tina Fey's infamous impersonation of Sarah Palin Tuesday, Fey told NBC's the Today Show.

Fey, a onetime cast member of the late night comedy program who is set to serve as its host this weekend, said she hasn't seen the sketch yet but will do an initial run through of it Wednesday.

"I am going to read through later today and see what's up. They wrote last night," Fey said. "I am sure we will try something."

Fey, whose impersonations of Palin in 2008 were widely-credited with shaping perceptions of the then-Republican vice presidential nominee, told the U.K. paper The Telegraph earlier this week she hasn't been keeping up with Palin's latest moves.

"I haven't been watching her on television lately because I've been working on '30 Rock,'" she said.

While Fey's impersonation of Palin won wide praise, the comedienne indicated back in 2008 it's not a character she is keen on reviving.

"I want to be done playing this lady Nov. 5," she said in reference to Election Day, 2008. "So if anybody can help me be done playing this lady Nov. 5, that would be good for me."

"Yep.....Dem/Liberal (all the self-same animal) are following the "play book" drawn up by Obamanites......Attack and destroy......Palin is getting too strong, so go for her again, what you Demliberals do not understand is what we conservative Americans are being driven by is the Obama policies.......which is: Make America more like the UK, Canada, and other Socialistic nations! We are only strengthened and motivated by your constant attacks of slander on other Conservative Americans! The Demliberal machine will lose and lose big because of this and no other reason!"

Eddie, get back in the double-wide, your crystal meth is getting overcooked. You betcha! Have a nice day!

It's hard for us northeastern, well-off, well-educated liberals to fathom how even the unwashed, bible thumping, morons of the south and midwest can idolize a pathetic clown like Palin. Elitist, you say? Yup. We are. We have many reasons to be elitist. If more Americans would turn off Fox News and learn to read, the elite would grow and the dregs of society would shrink. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Tina Fey is an actress/comedienne who plays characters for the purpose of making other laugh.

Sarah Palin is not an actress/comedienne; yet she has made the entire educated world laugh at her along with her racist bigots; that is the world outside of ‘Real America’ both in the United States and abroad.

Beginning in the campaign of 2008, she revealed to the world just how hopelessly backward a large region and demographic of this country continues to be in 2010.

Keep on doing what you’re doing Ms. Fey.

i think its special that tina fey needs to squeeze out a few more dollars at the expense of sarah palin, who to the best of my knowledge, has never made any money at her expense and has done absolutely nothing to her. guess i still cant find any moral justification here othe than just unadultrated greed. something tells me that sarah palin may just win out in the long run

Republicans are toast this November! there is no room in the US congress for Republicans who think condeming every American child with a pre-existing condition to life of no health care coverage...also the owner of the collapsed mine in Wva donated 360,000 to the Republican party and $0 to the DEMS while avoiding bringing his mine up to state code (just think what that money would have done to help bring his mine up to code and saved lives)...that is blood money and im glad he gave it all to the Republican party! while you guys are spinning to your obvious doom come this NOV fire Michael steele.

If Sarah Palin ever run in 2012 and win, she might need Tina Fay as a double to stand up for her.

i can't believe all of the sheeple on here supporting palin. it's obvious that our educational system has failed miserably.

and those of you saying tina who? i'm sorry you don't watch 30 rock because it's not aired on fox news. fey has created a great show with deadpan delivery. sure, it's not competitive swine racing, or a gosh darn speech, but maybe you should give it a chance. maybe you need beck to do his commentary on it.

It is so scary that the delusional few actually think the real Sarah Palin has a lot of followers. And even more terrifying that someone so min-numbingly stupid has ANY followers whatsoever.

Time to make a brief reconnection with reality, Palinites!

Palin does a better impression of Fey, as when she mocks any liberal for being naive.

There is no doubt, a VP Palin would be doing a better job than President in training Obama.

She has more experience, more peronsality, more gravitos, more common sense, more grit, more pursuasiveness and just more of everything.

I am a Republican and I hate the fact that Sarah palin is masquerading as someone who represents me and the GOP. Anyone who thinks they are a Republican and supports this sub-moronic, media hungry, blabber mouth, blowhard who is an embarresment to the GOP needs to rethink their decision making paradigm. Sarah Palin is the worst kind of out -for -herself politician and anyone who doesnt see that is in denial or a celebrity worshiper. She is a cachophony of sound bites and buzz words with no substance, let her flex some intellectual muscle by debating another politician or maybe somthing more her speed....like a raddish. I'm just saddened that a once great political party and machine for real American change has degenerated to this.
