"It has been a tremendous honor to serve the President, and leaving this great team is bittersweet," she said in a statement. "After nearly 2 years of work that has been exhilarating and grueling in equal measure, I am going to step off the treadmill for awhile and rediscover the experience of dining with my husband on a regular basis. It has been a privilege to be part of the health care team, and I will be cheering with pride from the sidelines as this historic law takes effect."
Douglass, a former ABC News correspondent, joined then-Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign in 2008 and went to work for the administration after Obama was elected.
White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said Douglass "will continue to be a valued advisor to this President and this White House."

She should be proud of the monumental and historic legislation she helped usher into law. My hat is off to her and she is due a well deserved break.

Where the hell has she been while the GOP was out there with all the lies and misinformaiton? This "spokesperson" should have been out there non-stop – and I mean relentlessly – disseminating the facts about about this legislation and countering all the misinformation spread by the GOP and the Teabaggers. I hope she was asked to resign.
Wonder what the real reason was for resigning.
May be that she is resigning because she actually read the 2,000+ Socialized Health Care Plan. We can only hope that a few more do and take the same exit plan.

For the sake of this country Obama is the one that needs to resign not her.

Linda Douglass has done enough damage to the US economy and now needs to make as much money as she can so that she can survive the upcoming recession due to the very policies she helped put in place.
She'll be going back in the media business now and claiming she's not in the tank for Obama like all of the other lefties in the media. A real independent journalist. Yeah, right.
I think she knows what all is in this stinker of a law and does not want to be connected to it.
You know, I can't imagine how beat-up these folks must feel after just a short time on the job. I'm sure government service at this level must require a special dedication that I think the rest of us onlookers just don't get.

Signs that BHO is struggling as President:
1. His own party cannot even agree with many of his radical ideas.
2. His staff is not stable.
3. Most American citizens are not with him.
As an independent, I voted for him and I can tell you that what I heard during the campaign and what is actually happening are worlds apart.
People do sacrifice a lot of their personal life when serving the people and one can appreciate when comes the time for people to be back at the end of the day with their family and be proud of their accomplishments for the american people!
