Evangelical leader backs Coats in Indiana

"I have long respected former Senator Dan Coats for his integrity and his legislative influence in the Congress," Dobson said in a statement. "I also admire his personal commitment to his Christian faith in public life. Dan has been a consistent leader of pro-family causes and a stalwart defender of unborn children. If my wife Shirley and I were Hoosiers, we would definitely vote for Dan Coats in the May 4th primary."
In addition to the endorsement, Dobson cut a radio ad on Coats' behalf that is set to run starting on Tuesday.
Coats, a former senator and House member who now wants to return to Washington, is hoping to win the seat occupied by Sen. Evan Bayh, a Democrat who is not seeking re-election.
I do not understand why anybody would want the support of this charlatan.

The only way Dobson is "influential" is with the money he swindles from the sad and lonely people he preys on. We in Va have our own social parasite – Pat Robertson – who claims to communicate with (a) God. Of course with all the hate, fear, and utter nonsense Robertson/Dobson spew I want nothing to do with their brand of God.
Robertson and Dobson have view points more similar to Bin Laden and are the opposite of Jefferson and the rest of our Founders.
Yes we in Va have two creepy Robertson clones as our state's governor and AG. And they are hard at work trying to take Va back to the "Good Old Boy Days" of prejudice, intolerance, and elitism.
Why does this story not include something about the likely Democrat who will run against this (obviously) Religious Fundamentalist Republican Coats? I want to know where to send my campaign donations to try and stop another old Patriarch from keeping us barefoot and pregnant.
Remove tax exept status from churches and religious cults. We cant afford to carry those who cast constant judgement on others while getting rich anymore. We all know they can afford it.
If religion has a bearing on political direction, then taxes should have a bearing on religion. If certain religions want to have a say in politics, then they need to be taxed, and I intend to make this point clear to my elected represenative. End of story.
