Palin on 2012: 'If it's right, then we will pursue that'

Sarah Palin discussed the possibility of a presidential run in an interview with a Canadian television show.

Sarah Palin discussed the possibility of a presidential run in an interview with a Canadian television show.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin continues to leave the door to a White House run wide open.

In an interview with "100 Huntley Street," a daily Christian talk show based in Ontario, the former Alaska governor said she "doesn't know politically what is next for me."

But Palin said she will "pursue" a presidential bid in 2012 if she decides it's the best way to help everyday people with their challenges.

The former vice presidential candidate has generally avoided talking specifically about her 2012 plans, but her comments in Canada are her most forthcoming since she told Fox News in February that it would be "absurd" not to consider a presidential bid.

Palin said she and her family have had an "exciting and full ride" since the 2008 presidential campaign ended. Her travels around the country over the last year and a half, she explained, have given her a glimpse of some of the struggles that regular Americans face every day.

"If I can help provide some encouragement, some inspiration, some hope for them to get through their battles and make good decisions and get through a challenge, because that's what we've been able to do, then I am going to stay focused on that," she said in the interview, set to air next week. "Whether that's on a local level in my own little town of Wasilla, or in the Oval Office, if it's right, then we will pursue that."

Palin said her next move depends, in part, on what God has in store for her.

"I do believe that it is a wise thing for us to put our lives in our Creator's hands," she said. "I put my life into God's hands and say, I'm going to do the best that I can every day to bring positive change to people that perhaps need some help. Need opportunity, too."

"That's what I'm going to do, day to day, not necessarily knowing what will bring to my family, to my country, to my life, in the next year, two years, three years down the road," she added.

Palin sat for the interview last week during a visit to Ontario, where she appeared at a charity event.

    Please,please, PLEASE get your party's nomination Sara, then after you finish off the catastrophe left by Bush you can quit after 2 years when you find out the job doesn't pay 100,000 dollars and hour.

    It will be interesting to see the reaction of the fans of "poor picked on Sarah" if she decides to run and Romney, Pawlenty, Huckabee and the rest of the crew tear into her more viciously than the meanies on the left ever did. Presidential politics is a mean business and I would love to see if she's up to it. I don't think so.

    I don't think she is capable of helping people with their challenges. She is only capable of stirring things up, quitting, and hoodwinking people to obtain large amounts of money.

    Dear Mrs Half Term Governor:

    Please woman do not delude yourself into believing that 5,000 wing nuts at a tea party rally means the COUNTRY wants you to be President. Far from it, we did not want you for VP , and you got a genuine war hero rejected in 2008! In addition your "star" power hasn't helped his Senatorial bid either. Really, someone who pulled down 12 mil , spends more to de-ice a private jet than most people make annually understands the struggles of the little people, yep and the Brooklyn Bridge is still for sale. God if you're listening please speak louder so sister Sarah gets the message.

    "Half Gov Palin" wouldn't know a nuclear policy if it blew up in her face. President Obama may not know everything about nuclear policies but that is why Presidents have advisors. President Obama has two advantages over "Half Gov. Palin". He has a brain and he is the POTUS. The only experience "Half Gov Palin" has is quitting a job. She has done that more times than a gypsy has moved. This woman represents a clear and present danger to herself and FOX NEWS. She complains about President Obama being a Socialist wanting to redistribute the wealth while she was the one that took Oil Company profits and redistributed them to the citizens of Alaska.

    What is Palin's strategy to stop another financial meltdown?
    What is her policy to stop the spread of "nukes?"
    What is her policy towards North Korea?
    How is she going to revitalize the manufacturing base of the country?
    What is her policy on the dollar?
    How is she going to raise education standards in the U.S. ?
    What is her detailed solution to healthcare after the Republicans repeal the new law?

    Her response to each of these is “DRILL BABY DRIL”.

    Ok. Let's say she decides to run for the Presidency. Who could afford her wardrobe?

    Ok. Let's say the stars, moons, asteroids, interplanetary dust, and everything else aligns and she gets elected. We had better have a great vice president, because when she quits half way through her term the VP will have to take over.

    Keep it alive, Sarah! You have tens of millions of Americans that knowing it will take someone like you to clean up the policy of greed that has taken over the White House and Congress. We'll take Congress back this November.

    Ok. Let's say Todd manages to get Alaska to succeed from the Union. Can Sarah still be a candidate for the U.S. Presidency? She will have been born in a 'foreign' country.

  15. Neaderthal Republicans

    Sarah Palin can never win the Presidency. That's not just me speaking but a majority of Americans.

    She will just take advantage of those tea partiers and other incoherent Republicans to suck more money out of them. God they are fools and they don't even know that they are being played.

    Putting aside all her other shortcomings ... and they are many ... she's a quitter. Americans would never elect a quitter.

    She's out to make all the money she can. In doing so, she has alienated so many people that she could never be elected. BUT, she is so full of herself that she not only believes she could be elected but that she is qualified and capable.

  20. Liberal and Proud

    Dear Sarah:

    Let us save you some time.

    You do not possess–and never will–the following:

    1) the background;
    2) the education;
    3) the intellect;
    4) the character;
    5) the perspective, and the vision

    to be the President of the United States. You are more than delusional, I fear–like the many Americans who voted for you in 2008.

    Run Sarah Run!

    Seriously she will never, ever win the GOP primary, beloved as she may be by what's left of the GOP voting base. But they're crazy, not stupid. They'll put up someone who might have a chance to win, just like they did with McCain (until, of course, he picked Palin as his running mate).
