Cheney reflects on 'f**k' yourself comment

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/02/22/art.cheneycpac0222.gi.jpg caption="Former Vice President Dick Cheney told Dennis Miller Thursday that telling Sen. Patrick Leahy to ‘f**k’ himself was ‘sort of the best thing I ever did.’"](CNN) – Democrats were gleeful in 2004 when former Vice President Dick Cheney on the Senate floor told a senior lawmaker to "f**k" himself – a gesture, they thought, that was emblematic of Cheney's hard-heartedness.

Six years later, Cheney is looking back on that moment with pride.

"You'd be surprised how many people liked that," Cheney told conservative comedian and radio host Dennis Miller Thursday. "That's sort of the best thing I ever did."

Audio of the comments were posted on the liberal Web site Think Progress.

Cheney aimed the choice words at Sen. Patrick Leahy, now the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, in June 2004. Cheney was upset with Leahy's criticism of Iraq contracting deals that the Bush administration had awarded to Halliburton, the company Cheney used to head.

Senate rules prohibit senators from using "unbecoming" language on the Senate floor when the body is in session, but makes no mention of whether the vice president is permitted to make foul remarks.

The only thing that Cheney should have finished it wth was...you f...ing arrogant a..hole. Face it you biased bunch of rubes. Leahy deserved it. No, I am not a Cheney fan. But the guy called it right. Hey, even a broken clock tells the right time twice a day.

Well, this is hardly a surprise given it's coming out of the mouth of an immoral war criminal. I suggest putting him in isolation, make him listen to his own words at the loudest possible level (including his F-bomb) and then waterboard him. Those who "live by the sword, should die by the sword."

Foul language is the last resort for people who are impatient to force their agenda down your throat with a big stick. Rahm Emanuel comes to mind.

Sadly, it probably is the best thing Cheney every did. He's a disgusting excuse for a human being. It will take decades to undo the damage he and shrub did to our nation's reputation, if we ever can.

Now it seams amazing to me that this person ever was chosen as
a vice president, or ever had a position in politics.
He was and is and forever will be one of the worst vice presidents
ever appointed, he might even beat Spiro Agnew.

From a man who would shoot a good friend in the face, that shouldn't raise an eybrow.

Considering that the best thing one has done, doesn't say much about one's accomplishments, does it?

So that is what Dennis Miller is, a comedian? Seems to me he has evolved into a right wing lapdog.

Let me guess Dick, the second best thing you ever did was to shoot your hunting buddy in the face.

JOKE: If Jeb Bush became President ... do we have to invade IRAQ a THIRD Time? OK. It's not a joke. He'd select Cheney to be VP - so he can add to the 238 no-bid contracts that he had awarded to Halliburton. Now ... he got his trust fund back and guess what? He made millions off of us! Why doesn't someone look into this?

Total Slimeball. Just go away, Dick! Your name ..... oh, nevermind.

Cheney...you are no longer relevant...GO AWAY! You may get your chance to be relevant again when you and the rest of your Bush administration cronies get charged with war crimes, but until then...do what your boss is doing and shut up.

Is it just me? Or does anyone else think this man embodies the true sence of the word 'evil.'

To his point... I am sure that Leahy would have been the first one to complain if these support services Halliburton was providing to our srevicemen fighting on the front lines were delayed more than necessary. Meanwhile, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were running around the country trying to convince Americans that the Iraq war was unwinnable. That was their brave contribution.

So, it's not okay for a golfer to curse on the golf couse (a la Tiger) but it's okay (and the best thing he's ever done, which I definitely won't argue) for the Vice President of the United States of America to curse on the floor of the Legislature? Seems some folks' priorities are a little fouled up.

I bet he is proud of remark, he remained on Haliburton's payroll and watched millions of dollars trickle in his bank account at the expense of our young troops. If I was in the same position and somebody tried to stop my millions I'd say the same thing. I however wouldn't do it at the expense or suffering of others

Not only was Cheney a horrible VP, dragging this country into war, subverting government transparency and civil rights, but he is uncivil and corrupt. An all-around lowlife with no class, as evidenced by this article. Where were the so-called "Tea-Partiers" then? Oh yeah, that's right – they are just another flavor of right-wing Republicans. They whine about government spending but where were they when Cheney and Bushey were running up the biggest deficit in US history?

    Does the truth exists?

Obviously the question is ridiculous. The truth is as clear as a straight path to Rome.Albeit, some can get there by chance or by design.

Therefore,it stands to reason then, anything created or constructed without integrity–adherence to the truth–in time amount to building a ship designed to sink.Whether this be your body, life, community, building or an actual ship.

The best thing he ever did... that's it? A VP for eight years and the best he ever did was cuss out a senator. Maybe he should be waterboarded or better yet confined to an undisclosed location for the rest of his life.

Dick Cheney should arrested, put on trial, and convicted of treason.

He's a real dirt ball. He was part of the Nixon adminstration and has no respect for our laws or the Constitution.

Obama should have appointed a special prosecutor for Cheney and Bush's shenanigans.

That's exactly what we needed to be telling Obama and his gov. controll programs expecially when it comes to Obamacare.

  24. No Offsetting Penalties ....

I'm sure some fanatical rightwinger will try to equate Biden's BFD to Cheny's Go F – yourself ... sorry, they are not equivalent.

Cheney's use was a nasty, derisive attempt to attack someone.

Too bad, Dick doesn't realize that while his base may have at up this red meat .... the Democrats and Independents that he needed to govern did not like it at all.

    That's the difference.
