[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/04/20/art.spalin08h.gi.jpg caption ="Palin addressed a Republican fundraiser in Eugene, Oregon Friday."](CNN) – Making light of the fact she was in one of America’s liberal bastions Friday night, Sarah Palin told attendees at an event in Eugene, Oregon she eats granola and organic food just like residents there do.
Speaking at the Lane County Republican's annual Lincoln Day Dinner, a major fundraising event for the organization, Palin told the crowd she’s more like people in Eugene than one might think.
“I eat granola. I eat a lot of organic food. I have to shoot and catch a lot of my organic food before I eat it,” the former Republican vice presidential nominee joked, according to the Oregonian.
Palin’s remarks also included the red meat jabs at Democrats that have become characteristic of her speeches this year, telling the crowd its OK for Republicans to be the “Party of No.”
"When the other party's wrong, we stiffen our spines," She told a crowd numbering 900, according to the Oregonian. "Why not be the party of not just no, but hell no.”
Sarah Palin, a woman of conviction??? Yeah, if it lines her pocketbook, she's for that. Remember...when Mr. Obama was elected, she "offered to go to Washington to work for our country in the new administration." Conviction??? She holds up her finger, tests the direction of the wind, and says...Yes!! I'm for that!! Conviction is staying in Alaska and completing her job the voters elected her to do. I guess it was not lucrative enough for her.
Same speech – same tired lines – same results. I guess drawing 900 people in Eugene Oregon is a big deal for her, but then again, how many did not come? Eugene's population is about 150,000 or so.
Eventually, even CNN will eventually tire of this broken record, move off of it's "People Magazine" philosophy of news coverage, and get back to doing real reporting. Would prefer sooner rather than later.
I hope that more young ladies will search the stores for eyeglasses similar to former Govenor Palin's and see if such glasses do the same thing for them that Sarah's do for her. Wow.
I saw a young lady wearing a pair the other day, but they didn't favor her.
I suspect that once again she's been misquoted by the lame-stream media to make her look less intelligent than she surely must be. They're trying to make her look like a mangler of the English language when she's obviously capable of soaring poetry.
Now, I may have heard it wrong, but I'm pretty sure the correct quote is:
"Why not be, not just not the party of not just not no, but just not hell no?” It's almost JFKennedian (pronounced can-ay-dee-an) in its simplicity and profundity. Well done, Sarah!
Palin/Bachmann 2012!
You go girl! Keep irritating the liberals!
Sarah Palin, the gift that just keeps on giving..... to Democrats. As long as this lightweight charlatan keeps ho-ing herself in the media and attracting the right wing neocon nutjobs, Democrats can rest assurred that the Republican party is still fractured by fanatics.
Palin is just another manifestation of the GOP's strategy for the last 10 years or so, under the guidance of Karl Rove:
1. Find physically attractive candidates say they are "Christian" and say they are pro-small business, anti-gun control, anti-choice and anti-gay (GW Bush was Rove's first dream candidate).
2. Use them to get the base riled up and into the voting booths.
3. Once elected, ignore your base and their concerns and turn all attention to transferring wealth to the already wealthy through tax cuts targeted only at them; de-regulate big business; institute trade policies that favor multi-national corporations; turn a blind eye to abuses of financial institutions; start a war or two (or at least increase defense spending and no-bid contracts to your buddies).
4. Accuse anyone who disagrees with your policies un-American and supporting the enemy.
5. Blame all resulting problems and crises on Liberals.
Thank you CNN for this pearl of wisdom!
Palin will say anything to anyone that she thinks will get them to like her. She is the perpetual butt-kisser – with or without lipstcik.
Sara Palin feels proud to be in the Party of No. Oh!, excuse me, she feels proud to be in the Party of Hell No.
She freely admits her Party's shortcoming. This is a step forward. Maybe several years from now she'll stop seeing "Alaska from her house" which will be an indication of improvement in her education and then, who knows, maybe we'll even hear a positive suggestion from her for solving a current event problem.
Sarah Palin is a loose canon. If this woman ever makes it to public office again (which is quite unlikely), this country will crumble. I can not believe people listen to her rhetoric and believe it. She makes no sense and is really unintelligent on top of that. What is wrong with these people. They continue to give her their hard earned money and then complain about having no money because of the Obama Admin.. This is one independent who would never vote for this person for anything.
I live in NYC and I eat granola too!!!! (I really do). So does an american in any state, where an individual actually likes granola. Sarah you are such a panderer. I also like guns, and am a christian.....yet my political views alighn way more w/ the DEMS in this point in history.
Hey Niki,
There is a difference between shaking with laughter and shaking in ones boots. No one is afraid of Sarah Palin. No one ! Democrats are so outspoken about her because they cannot believe the nonsense, and lies, that comes from the mouth of an ex governor and vice president candidate. How did she ever get elected governor in the first place ? We all know how she became a vice president candidate. I fell over laughing the day John McCain first announced her name and I haven't stopped laughing since.
Palin, in an effort to be liked is telling everyone just how much she is like then Last week in Hamilton Ontario, she said she even sounded like a Canadian, Biig news to me eh! I have never, ever heard anyone up her who sounds like her. You betcha!
I think it's funny that Sarah Palin draws less of a crowd than the Eugene Farmer's Market. Go Sarah Go....away. Far far AWAY. Back to Alaska where a crowd of 900 might actually make news.
I'm getting sick and tired of the old "most Americans" bit. Most do this and most think that. Give us a break.Who do you people think you are that can speak for everyone else.? As far as Sarah Palin is concerned, I think she is an opportunist, a blow hard, and a fraud. She will say whatever the traffic will bear wherever she is and to what kind of crowd she's facing. If she really had a lot of power, she'd be dangerous because those who cannot think for themselves tend to listen a little harder, and believe a lot of lies. This is my opinion and I don't speak for others. And to Terry from Texas,....you "couldn't handle the truth".
That's right Sarah – the party of 'hell no' to all of these half brained ideas to destroy the Republic of the USA. These far-left liberal loons have seen from other countries that socialism/communism/marxism doesn't work so why do they want to destroy our country with these mid-evil philosophies.
I don't consider many Idiots to be professionals but "Half Gov. Palin" is a very professional Idiot. Many say her message is consistant. This is so only because this is the only thing she was able to memorize. She is not capable of adjusting on the fly. This walking, talking lie machine has the attention of much of the world because of the hate and filth she spews from her mouth every day.
I hope those people in New Jersey do not change their prayers to say that Sarah Palin is their favorite liar.
idesign,
Who said that we're the party of tolerance? When the civil rights of minorities, women, and gays are oppressed we don't tolerate it, we DO something about it. When Wall street bankers bankrupt the nation and steal American's homes, we don't tolerate it, we DO something about it. And when semi-literate corrupt fame balls pretend to enter politics for fiscal gain, and when coke addled legacy presidents lie to us and get our American sons and daughters murdered in illegal wars, well, we don't tolerate that either. I'm quite happy to let the right wingers be the "tolerant" ones, especially if what they tolerate is idiocy, mediocrity, and the destruction of what this country has and should stand for.
Wow... she wants everyone to know that she's like them... I am flat out offended. She's nothing like me, or my family. She's so full of moose manure that she can't see straight. The only thing she has going for her, is that there are a lot of people that are just about as nuts as she is, that hang on every word she says, as if she were Jesus Christ Reborn.
Sarah Palin has become a Fox News Superstar... she's a great conservative personality, however, she is only that. It's all on the surface folks.... add her to Glenn Beck and Rush, and what do you get? Less intelligence than a room full of squirrels.
Ugh, her soundbites are so February of 2010. She needs to come up with different one-liners. She just sounds like an entertainer warming up the crowd.
Sarah Palin would rather hang out with a bunch of tea party nuts, than be with her family. One can only assume that her bouncing around from city to city, state to state, leaves very little home quality time. She is far from the American dream, and leaves little to be desired as a role setter. Lying, calling names, being nasty, are not the standards a parent should set for their children. Clearly her priorities are backwards, and she is leading her followers down a path of destruction.
It is no wonder that she is a granola eater. Maybe a hippie. She sure seems to be on drugs.
Just more hypocrisy from the Bible supporter using profanity.
To: idesign...who's a joke, who is considered more tolerant? Who's fracturing from within? Seems to me that you conservative wing-nuts not only find everything going on in the world unacceptable but you also want to destroy other republicans within your own party. Let me sum up what I think of you and people like you: The Republicans, the tae baggers and the birthers are looking for an America that was, but this country is trying to be and searching for the America we ought to be.
