In Eugene, Palin says she eats granola too

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/04/20/art.spalin08h.gi.jpg caption ="Palin addressed a Republican fundraiser in Eugene, Oregon Friday."](CNN) – Making light of the fact she was in one of America’s liberal bastions Friday night, Sarah Palin told attendees at an event in Eugene, Oregon she eats granola and organic food just like residents there do.

Speaking at the Lane County Republican's annual Lincoln Day Dinner, a major fundraising event for the organization, Palin told the crowd she’s more like people in Eugene than one might think.

“I eat granola. I eat a lot of organic food. I have to shoot and catch a lot of my organic food before I eat it,” the former Republican vice presidential nominee joked, according to the Oregonian.

Palin’s remarks also included the red meat jabs at Democrats that have become characteristic of her speeches this year, telling the crowd its OK for Republicans to be the “Party of No.”

"When the other party's wrong, we stiffen our spines," She told a crowd numbering 900, according to the Oregonian. "Why not be the party of not just no, but hell no.”

She is as fake as they come. Anybody can say they have good morals, but it really all comes down to pervious actions and decisions. She will say what she thinks is going to please the crowd, she is talking out of her ass. Trying to use granola and organics as a way to reach the republicans in Eugene, LAME. I hope they notice that they are being played by there own party.

I am not a huge fan of Sarah Palin's policies, BUT I immediately become a huge Palin fan when I see how upset the far-left gets when she says anything. I mean, ANYTHING. She's awesome for that.

A kind, mild-mannered mother who became governor and wrote a huge-selling book. You uppity fools can question her intelligence when you've accomplished 10% worth of her personal accomplishments.

Also Obama is all you have. The rest of your party is ostracized from independent voters. Can't wait to see Mitch Daniels turn all those swing states RED in 2012.

Terry from Texas. Get over yourself. You don't speak for all of us, in fact the way you run on, I don't think you even read what you write. As for Sarah Palin, speaking just for myself, this woman is unfortunately trying to speak for all of those people who can"t think for themselves. She is basically only interested in promoting herself. She's after fame and fortune at whatever cost. If she confuses a lot of people into believing her lies, she doesn't care as long as she gets her day in the sun. Aren't her 15 minutes about over? They were for me last year.

"Sarah Palin told attendees at an event in Eugene, Oregon she eats granola and organic food just like residents there do."

Whoever wrote this is an idiot. I lived in Eugene and now live in Portland, OR. For years, the biggest and hottest spot to eat was the local IHOP.

Eugene is a large college town. Full of kids. Yes, there are a lot of organic food eaters but just as many, if not more, fast food junkies so please, give me a break.

Way to go Sarah Palin you have all these people upset, because they voted the wrong way, and now have to blame someone else for it.

Pure Palin. Proving yet again her idiocy. I feel bad calling her names though. Name calling is such a Republican't-argue-without-namecalling-or-threatening thing to do. But I feel the word "Idiot" really fits her.

I was stunned in 2008 when hypocrite John "Erratic-Molasses" McCain did not follow his own "Country First" principle; but instead bet what measly honor he had left to pick a money hungry hillbilly Airhead to be a single-heartbeat from the Presidency.

I get chills thinking of what would happen if this airhead (who could not explain why there were two Koreas), became the President with her trigger fingers on the nuclear keys?

The fact that this idiot has to keep trying to tell us she's "just like us" is disconcerting. Shouldn't she be developing cogent thoughts on economic reform and foreign policy instead of the incessant claims of her ability to shoot and capture her own food? Please, please, please stop talking! She is no different than Jon and Kate, Spencer and Heidi or any other fame-whoring reality tv "star".

That woman keeps it up, by 2012 she'll be old news. She might still run, but she'll be the spoiler for some republican candidate. I can bet the Republicans will have a two man race and she'll be in the middle of it taking votes from both of them, and she wont even be close of winning it.

...and she is the best that the republican, tea, conservative party came come up with? For a person that whines about the media, she sure is profiting from it. The dems will stay in power in 2010 and 2012, no doubt about it.

Palin the dunce keeps sucking in all that Republican money. What does that make her followers? She plays them like a fiddle and they love her for it. Doesn't say much for the entire group.

Republican don't have a spine to stiffen, that's why they always go in lock step, safety in numbers. Do you ever see a republican face disapproval because his stance on a subject isn't the party line, NOOOO they don't have the guts.

By golly we’ve got a lot of deranged liberal comments from the venom spewing left. I just love how the simple mention of her name drives you folks completely insane. So much for the party of tolerance. You people are a joke…..

No. What is sad is that this woman is the leading Republican candidate. What drives the liberals to the polls in November is that the party that intended to put this woman a heart beat away from the presidency who once said she could see Russia from her house...thats what drives liberals mad is the fact that the Republican party is full of hypocrisy, lies, is unpatriotic and puts party before country! You may hate Obama all you want but id feel better about Biden being in charge instead of Palin! With Palin and mccain by now America would have been at war with Iran, a failing economy, 23% UNEMPLOYMENT, and other countries like russia would have been steady building up their arms!!! Thank God for the mixed raced ONE!!!

If CNN did not write about Palin news, spectators would say they were being biased. But, it seems, when they do, readers complain. News media should be neutral and provide unbiased news coverage so that the audience can form their own opinions. By covering Palin, CNN is doing just that.

Funny how Sarah is so quick to jump on the guy who hacked into her email account, citing the unlawfullness and indecency of it all....yet, wasn't she guilty of committing unlawful acts herself, numerous times, during her time in Alaska? Pot, kettle...black?

    How typical.

So keep poisoning yourself with what you are hunting! Also my two year old is smarter than you. Please stop trying to get all this attention all you care about is money, that is why you quit your job being Governor. You are a waste of air!
