CNN projection: Runoff to come in Arkansas

(CNN) – CNN projects that Arkansas' Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate will go to a runoff.

With 50 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday, Sen. Blanche Lincoln led Lt. Gov. Bill Halter 43.6 percent to 42.2. percent. Businessman D.C. Morrison had 14.2 percent.

To avoid a runoff, a candidate would need at least one vote more than 50 percent.

Lincoln will lose the run-off! Arkansas is tired of Lincoln! She was agaist the Public Option, while most Arkansans wanted it Arkansas loves Democrats, but Lincoln isn' Democrat enough for us! Halter will win, because he is a Real Democrat! Halter will work with Democrats, not be a part of Republican Filibusters like Lincoln did.

  4. Wrong

As usual CNN has it's facts wrong. To avoid a runoff the candidate needs more than 50% of votes cast in the election. If 2,000,001 votes are cast a majority is 1,000,001. However, "one vote more than 50% would be 1,000,002.

Looks like Arkansas hasn't learned anything. To re-elect Lincoln is a stupid mistake. Wake up people.

Considering the large majority of Morrison votes will go to Halter, Lincoln is in real trouble.
