McConnell praises Paul, says Kentucky GOP will 'unite'

(CNN) – Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell congratulated Rand Paul in a statement released Tuesday. McConnell backed Paul's opponent in the Kentucky Republican Senate primary, but said that Kentucky Republicans will "unite in standing against the overreaching policies of the Obama Administration."

Read McConnell's fulls statement after the jump.

“Dr. Paul ran an outstanding campaign which clearly struck a chord with Kentucky voters and I congratulate him on his impressive victory. Now Kentucky republicans will unite in standing against the overreaching policies of the Obama Administration. We are spiraling further into unsustainable debt and Kentucky needs Rand Paul in the U.S. Senate because he will work every day to stop this crippling agenda.”

Shut up mitch! You are pathetic. Unless things turn around the Democrats turned out in bigger numbers than the republicans.
You do realize that he ran as a teabagger, right? All the crapola about taking our country back. Meaning you are part of the problem also, not the solution.

The whole GOP needs to unite, not just the Kentucky GOP. And, further, they have to unite around real conservative principles of fiscal restraint and respect for individuals.

The neo-cons have got to be made to understand that people don't really like being told how to live their lives and that if they keep trying to do that they're going to blow any chance they may have of keeping the Dems from completely ruining the American economy.

  6. Save America, impeach the treasonous republicans

The Kentucky republicans soundly rejected Mitch McConnell's candidate, and that says a lot about the state of the GOP.

McConnell is on C.R.E.W.'s list of most corrupt politicians in Washington.

Relax McConnell, wait till November gets here!

Same old rhetoric with no plans or solutions and remember it was Mitch McConnell and the rest of his GOP cronies that sat by during the Bush administration and watch as we began to implode and said nothing.

Kentucky Republicans didn't vote for Rand Paul, they voted against Mitch McConnell. Trey Greyson was just the messenger.

Funny Mitch McConnell is now congratulating Rand Paul and saying they will unite together when he just a few hours ago was indorsing Trey Grayson. Boy flip floppin already.
