Palin targets 'extreme greenies' opposed to drilling

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/06/02/art.palin.twitter.jpg caption="Palin is targeting opponents of ANWR drilling on Twitter."](CNN) – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is using the Gulf Coast oil spill to promote the issue of drilling in the Arctic Wildlife National Refuge – the 20-million protected acres where untapped oil and gas reserves have long served as a lightning rod of controversy.

"Extreme Greenies: see now why we push 'drill, baby, drill' of known reserves & promising finds in safe onshore places like ANWR? Now do you get it?" the former Republican vice presidential nominee wrote Tuesday evening on her Twitter account.

That comment followed a similarly-themed tweet last week after President Obama announced a moratorium on deep offshore drilling for six months, while an independent commission reviews the explosion of the BP rig that caused the ongoing leak.

"Deep offshore moratorium? Then correspondingly allow more onshore drilling, incl ANWR reserves. Domestic oil's still required in US industry," she tweeted Thursday.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Palin was a strong advocate of drilling both offshore and in ANWR, a position that was repeatedly expressed her now-famous phrase "Drill Baby Drill."

In her Oct. 2008 vice presidential debate with Joe Biden, Palin specifically took aim at him for opposing offshore drilling efforts.

"You even called drilling – safe, environmentally-friendly drilling offshore – as raping the outer continental shelf," Palin said at the debate. "There – with new technology, with tiny footprints even on land, it is safe to drill and we need to do more of that."

She is a certified imbecile. Lets use our moronic slogan "Drill baby drill" to justify ANWR drilling now that it hasnt turned out so good in the Gulf.

Why wait for an underwater oil spill to reach land when you can drill on land and have the spill happen there in the first place? No waiting to see if it is going to hit land, you know right away its on land. Doesn't that sound much better?

"Xtreme greenies?" It is again shocking, but not surprising, to re-discover her screaming levels of intolerance over and over again. She is all about exploitation, whether it is nature or those stupid enough to pay horrendous fees for her incompetent speeches, which contain nothing but empty rhetorics, hatred, ill-facts, prejudice, lies, and controversies. Wake up, America. We can do much better. This is not education.

Sounds like redirecting to me. The details that she is trying to add to here "drill baby drill" were never stressed in the past.

Sarah Palin has a short memory, or one that is merely convenient for her needs.

This witch never gives up. Just admit you were wrong. This is exactly why "greeniacs" want to get rid of the archaic oil business forever.

She is such a joke, I can't believe anyone would still report on her. The only thing I get out of it is comedy relief.

The disaster in the Gulf is all the more reason to halt ANY drilling and explore other technologies but then again SHE does not get it!

spill baby spill. Anyone advocating for any oil drilling anywhere must not have read any news lately. No surprise here, as Palin probably hasn't read any news because it's all from the 'lame-stream media.'

Palin is a moron; her 15 minutes of fame expired long ago.

Let me get this straight. She is using the biggest environmental disaster of all time, caused by something that she backed, as the arguement for doing it more? Whether it is on or offshore, the answer isn't to drill more, it's to find ways to not have to drill at all. It's not that she is too stupid to know she's stupid, it's that she proffesses her stupidity so loudly and is proud of it.

What an idiot. Please someone remind her of what she said about offshore drilling and now with new technology, it's so safe. Yeah, see how safe and how unprepared these oil companies are to deal with these spills. The only advanced technology they have created is how to drill deeper. They are still using the same technology to stop the leak that they did 30+ years ago in the other gulf oil spill.

Nothing new here. In the midst of the worst environmental catastrophe in U.S. history, which has made clear that we don't have the technology to control blow-out well, we have Sarah Palin, the most ignorant and illiterate person on Earth, screaming "Drill, baby, drill!"

A week with no Palin is like....welllll....HEAVEN!!!!

This blithering idiot couldn't make it as an Old Navy Modelquin.

Just put her in an echo chamber so she can hear voices 'talking' back to her. She'll think it's a crowd of adoring fans. That should keep her busy for a while and god-willing....OUT of the public eye and ears.

WE ARE SICK OF YOU. Now do YOU get it, Palin?
