Clinton, Lincoln team up in new ad

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/06/04/art.lincoln.clinton.jpg caption="Sen. Blanche Lincoln's new campaign ad features former President Bill Clinton."]Washington (CNN) – Incumbent Sen. Blanche Lincoln is pulling out the big guns in her bid to defeat a hard charging challenger in the Arkansas Democratic Senate run-off.

Now just four days away from her showdown with Arkansas Lt. Gov. Bill Halter, Lincoln's newest campaign ad features former President Bill Clinton – the favorite son of Arkansan Democrats.

The two-term senator is locked in a tight run-off with Halter after neither candidate cracked the 50-percent mark in the May 18 primary.

Clinton made an appearance with Lincoln at a campaign event last Friday in Little Rock, and the new 30-second spot features video of Clinton quoting from a Washington Post article that said that national labor unions had decided to make Lincoln "the poster child for what happens when a Democrat crosses them."

Titled "The President," the ad closes with Clinton telling the crowd that "if you want to be Arkansas' advocate, vote for somebody that will fight for you."

Lincoln has been targeted extensively by labor unions during her re-election bid, though she has fought back by portraying unions as Washington-based outsiders interfering in Arkansas politics.

Many of the labor unions that are trying to defeat Lincoln now have supported her in the past. Among the issues labor unions cite her opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act, which unions strongly support.

There is a sure winner, a picture of her standing next to that slimy liar Bill Clinton. Helps us remember why this fool should be voted out.

I always find it amazing that "the club" always sticks together, even as they fight each other in congress. A good progressive running in Arkansas, and Clinton backs the regressive incumbent Dem Blanche Lincoln. Same with Romney stumping for McCain, Obama backing Specter, and on and on. Why is it that both parties always fear new blood? Why do party big-wigs always back the incumbent, even when they seem to be at odds with them?

Both parties support their club members to the hilt when ethical problems come up, too. I'm shaking my head, because it obviously doesn't do anything to improve American opinions of either party when the leaders consistently back those with tainted histories.

Hey Blanche, this is what it feels like having your feet held to the fire. You and Bubba can make all the ads you want. You are not a true democrat. Bill Halter has all of my support. If you do get reelected, I hope this primary challenge has tought you a lesson. It's our way, or the highway.

It is such a shame, that we Americans cannot remember who Bill Clinton is, he is the mouth that swallows all that this administration stands for, here we forget what we as fellow Americans trying to get our country back, and in Nevada, still have Reid ahead, **shaking head** don't understand the whole picture of people who speak from both side of their mouths and then elect someone who has helped bring down our government and country with his rubbish.
