Obama, Cameron wager beer over World Cup match

Washington (CNN) – President Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron have wagered their nation’s “best” beer and lager over Saturday’s World Cup showdown match between their two nations, the White House said.
Obama, who spoke to Cameron by phone from the Oval Office Saturday, suggested the wager, according to a summary of the conversation provided by the White House. “The president noted that the historical record of previous World Cup matches between the United States and England favors the United States and the president wagered the best lager against the best beer in America on an American win over England.”
Later: U.S., England play to a 1-1 tie
The White House did not specify what the president considers to be the nation’s best beer. Obama drank a Bud Light at the White House last summer during the so-called “beer summit” which brought together a Harvard professor and police officer after an incident between them sparked controversy.
This is the second time the two leaders have spoken since Cameron came into office. They will meet face-to-face at the G-8/G-20 meetings in Canada later this month and in Washington on July 20.
According to the White House Obama and Cameron discussed Afghanistan, Iran, the Gulf oil spill, and they “agreed to disagree on the desired outcome of the U.S.-England World Cup soccer match.”

For 8 years, the left loved to call Bush, among other things, an alcoholic. Now we have a President that can't seem to have any type of meeting without beer involved, and the left is noticably silent. Pure hypocrisy.
Who gives a hoot about a beer be? How about some of the nations problems? Everytime he gets into something he always has to let everyone know he drinks beer. Woopee.

Hopefully Obama offered at least Sam Adams or Yeungling beer and not Bud Lite. Bud is not even all US owned now.

Advice to the British ... don't identify yourself with BP ... BP is a corporation. Corporations in have no love for the person only for the profit. You can expect that our government will keep a watchful and withering eye on them. If that is going to get your knickers in a bunch, you've got a long road ahead of you.
This company, while headquartered in Britain, is destroying American coastline, waters and seafood. We, as any reasonable country, will hold them accountable and you shouldn't be whining about that.
If you want to help, Mr. Cameron, then you should advise Tony Haywood to stop injecting WEASEL WORDS like we will pay all "legitimate" claims. His implicit suggestion is that their are "illegitimate claims". That's the wrong energy for him to be giving off. That's why he's drawing fire.
Also, Mr. Haywood, don't act like not paying the dividend is a favor to the USA. You should willingly and quickly establish a $15B escrow fund EXPRESSLY for penalties from the EPA .. 37,500 barrels per day x 100 days [when relief wells will be ready] x $4,000 penalty per barrel.
Stop trying to get people to sign a settlement offer when you pay the 1st installment of their claim check. This is underhanded, sneaky and stupid ... we're not going for it.
Do these things and then PAY YOUR DIVIDEND. Do these things and the blistering criticism that has driven BP's Market Capitalization down will cease.
If the US Government becomes convinced that BP will do right and the market sees BP conveying that it can take responsibility for the spill and continue to operate, your share prices will return to pre-spill levels.
But Light isn't even BEER. .
