Obama goes to Ohio, again

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/06/16/art.obama.ohio051810.jpg caption="Obama will travel to Columbus, Ohio on Friday."]
Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama travels to Ohio Friday for the sixth time since taking office in a visit focused on the economy.

According to the White House, the president will "meet with workers and deliver remarks at the groundbreaking of a road project funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act" in Columbus.

Columbus was the location of his first visit to Ohio as president. In March 2009, he attended a graduation ceremony for 25 police cadets who had been slated to lose their jobs until the city used stimulus money to fund their salaries for the year. The White House credited the economic stimulus plan for saving those jobs and used the trip to illustrate that the plan was working.

Since that first trip, Obama has also visited Shaker Heights, Cincinnati, Elyria, and Strongsville, Ohio.

Should be a friendly crowd for him, union membership is required for contractors working on projects funded by the recovery act.

Seems like the requirement should simply to be an American.

guess that's not how they do it in Chicago.............................

Back to campaigning, what a relief. For a moment there I thought he was going to focus on the economy, the gulf and two wars. But it's good to see him out celebrating all the pork he's spread around.

Obama has been put the test.........and he has failed miserably. Man has real guts to go out there declaring his pork filled stimulus plan is working..........how stupid does he think we are? This economy should be on the road to recovery but the Democrats and Obama are keeping it down with their out of control spending. Fool thinks he can buy his way out of a recession.

Thank You President Obama for stepping on the very toes that almost brought our Country down. You have slowed our demise created by the Bush failed policies and we can now see light at the end of the tunnel. THANK YOU for all your hard work for the Average Americans

He might want to remember that it took more than Ohio to elect him and start paying more attention to the other 49 states.

How can a "cadet" be slated to lose their job. They haven't even graduated yet. Just wasting more of our money trying to convince people that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act actually accomplished something ?

Calling Barry O, calling Barry O, your ship for the Gulf is currently boarding. The photo op can wait!

  13. 49 other states

Somebody or anybody remind the President that theres 49 other states under his care; six trips to Ohio and none to GA, SC, Tenn, etc... Maybe instead of pointing fingers and playing golf, he should read a map and visit more states.

I guess the photo of him and a local resident eating a snow cone on the shores of Louisiana didn't do much to improve his image so the trip to Ohio is just what Axelrod ordered.

Obama doesn't get it. Private industry creates jobs not government. Almost everything Obama does has a prounion and/or protrial lawyer aspect. Both groups are bad for business and destroy jobs. Its the same as claiming to be in favor of chilren and then supporting child molesters.

Unemployment's at 10%, the Gulf Oil Crisis is at Day 58, and Obama's approval rating is at 42% ... and Obama is still campaigning 100%.

Wake up people and save our country from this socialist nightmare! In November, vote American, vote Republican!

  19. Weepy

Is he so obtuse that he cannot feel the pulse of the "American People" (a trite term politicos are so fond of using)? I am one of those "American People" who is intelligent enough to recognize when I am being used. I am not too dumb that I can't think for myself, like some Obama lovers who still blame George W. Bush for everything. THOSE FOLKS HAVE ALL BEEN USED. THE REST OF US ARE TIRED OF THE SPEECHES. He is coming to the end of his rope, and his airplane needs to be taken away from him. He is nothing but a PUPPET!!! Who is pulling the strings we don't yet know, but, it wouldn't surprise me if we discover it is someone in a foreign country. I say that because this present regime has made my own country seem quite foreign to me.
    HEAVEN HELP US!!

Ohio is one of the greatest States populated with some of the hardest working people, I know because I was born and raised there by a steel worker parent. I cried when I saw the soup lines during the Bush administration because that's no who we are. Thank you Mr. President for all you have done for this great state and keep up the good work there is still more to do.
