Rubio not facing foreclosure anymore, says campaign

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/05/05/art.rubio0505.gi.jpg caption="Rubio is no longer facing foreclosure, says his campaign."](CNN) – Marco Rubio's Senate campaign says he is no longer facing foreclosure on a home he co-owns in Tallahassee for which he has not made a mortgage payment on in six months.

"This is a jointly owned property in Tallahassee that has been in the process of being sold," the Republican's spokesman Alex Burgos said in a statement to CNN. "A clarification was needed on the amount owed, which has been resolved. This loan is current and the action is being withdrawn."

Citing Leon County court records, the Associated Press reported Friday that the home - which Rubio owns with state Rep. David Rivera - is undergoing the foreclosure process because the two have not made loan payments since January.

"This was simply a notice of additional action if not resolved, but it has since been resolved," said Burgos.

The AP also reported Rubio and Rivera paid $135,000 in 2005 for the house.

Scary guy - only $135,000 mortgage split between 2 people and they couldn't come up with their payments - another fiscally responsible republican.

Income Redistribution: Obama Requests $50 Billion for States
Not unlike O.J. searching for the "real" killer, the president is searching for someone's arse to kick over the Gulf oil crisis. Coincidentally, both men seem to be focusing their searches on exclusive golf courses. Obama briefly interrupted his diligent search, however, to propose plugging yet another bottomless financial pit with even more deficit spending. This time it's another $50 billion in "stimulus" aid to state and local governments. These needy governments have refused to balance their budgets and are claiming the latest infusion is needed to avoid "massive layoffs of teachers, police and firefighters" and to support the imaginary economic recovery. Ignoring the fact that last year's $800 billion stimulus boondoggle rewarded only state and local governments that kicked the fiscal can down the road, Obama again demonstrated his unflinching allegiance to Keynesian economics by asserting that going further into hock to keep the government partying like it's 1999 somehow helps the same economy which must pay the bills to stay afloat.

Despite not being able to conclusively link his hyperventilating about "massive" local government layoffs to any actual facts, Obama needs to learn that employment of teachers, police and firefighters is not a matter in which the White House or Congress should have any legitimate interest. Such persons work for their local governments, which, until now, have been perfectly capable of budgeting for their own employees since the founding of the Republic. Obama should instead focus his renowned intellect (just ask him, he'll tell you it's renowned) on finding places to cut expenditures and get the federal deficit under control.

Rubio is nothing more than a small time crook who isn't very smart. I can't image anyone in Florida trusting this guy, he's badly tainted.

Who's credit card did you use to make the payment Rubio? I wish I could magically come up with the money to pay my mortgage too. Can I borrow your credit card?

Typical "Drive By Media" headlines. Doesn't tell us that there was a dispute, only intimates that Rubio can't handle money. It's you're standard Liberal Media smear, and it WON'T work this time, because the public is finally fed up with the poor reporting done by the Liberal Media. The sleeping juggernaut of the American Conservative public has awakened, and the Democrat controlled Congress is in for a VERY rude awakening this November, when the balance of power in the House of Representatives shifts by 100 or more votes to the Republicans.

on 4/8 Rasmussen had Rubio ahead of Crist by 29%
    on 6/9 Rasmussen has a 'dead heat:' Rubio 37% – Crist 37%
the Tea Party favorite Marco Rubio will not be the Senator from Florida
Marco will still need that house in Tallahassee

Fiscally responsible? Clarification needed on amount owed? Keep track of it yourself, moron, it's called an amortization table and you can make one with Excel in all of 10 seconds. You know, or keep track of the monthly statements and a copy of the mortgage, etc. Idiot. And people like this guy? Of course, tell the exact same story about some african american family in, say, Michigan and you'll be treated to a stream of conservative talking points about Fannie/Freddie and deadbeats who take out mortgages they can't afford, etc. etc.

So here's yet another GOP Tea Bagger that preaches one thing, fiscal responsibility while he does the complete opposite. He wants the people of FL to send him to Washington, we think not. He can stay in FL and tell his lies there, we don't need another GOP liar in Washington.

Vote NO in NOvember to the party of NO.

YEAH, he paid the back-owed mortgages ONLY when the media found out. WHAT A CROOK this Rubio guy. He's NOT fooling anyone. This guy wants voters to think he's a saint, but he's a scam. He's NO saint that's for sure.

Anyone who votes for this FRAUD deserved to be taken to the cleaners. This guys comes a LOT of RED FLAGS, if voters ignore those red flags, they deserve whatever this clown takes from them!!!

RUBIO is nothing but a a CROOK and a FRAUD.

Let me see now. With Republicans in control, Social Security would be wiped out by privatization; with Progressives, er Democrats, in control, SS would be wiped out by theft. So what's the difference?

He's also getting ready to have his lights cut-off; his water bill is overdue; the kids haven't eaten in days, and his wife hasn't had a mani-pedi since God knows when.

The culprit behind all this? Rubio can no longer use his government issued Amex card to foot his PERSONAL BILLS. Sucks to be him right now!

  21. Joe from CT, not Lieberman

OK, let me see if I understand this. A state official owns a home (ok has a home loan for a property) that he has not made a payment on in 6 months – and he claims he is not going through foreclosure? Last time I checked, if you didn't make your payments the bank would foreclose. Is it because he is running for Senate? Also, why does he own this home with State Rep David Rivera? Is there something Rubio is not telling us?
