Obama and Kyl: He said, he said

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/06/21/art.jonkyl.gi.jpg caption="Sen. Jon Kyl and President Obama differ on what was said in their one-on-one Oval Office meeting."]Washington (CNN) –There's no White House transcript or tape to veryify what was said in a private Oval Office meeting with President Obama, but White House Deputy Spokesman Bill Burton calls Republican Senator Jon Kyl's version of a one-on-one discussion on immigration reform, "not true."

Last Friday, at a Tea Party town hall in Arizona, the Republican Senate Whip said the President told him, "if we secure the border, then you all won't have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform." Senator Kyl was suggesting that border security was being held hostage for political reasons.

The White House fired back on its blog, on Twitter and in the daily briefing. "The president didn't say that," Burton insisted, adding, "what everybody knows, because the president has made it perfectly clear, is that what we need to do is everything that we can to bring about comprehensive immigration reform. And that includes not just securing the border, but doing a lot of different other things."

So what was said?

When asked if the White House would provide its version of the conversation, Burton responded "no."

But top aides claim President Obama's actions are proof of a comprehensive strategy. Burton ticked off steps the administration has already taken…"we've put more resources at the border than have ever been there before. The president has doubled the number of border agents who are there. We've put other surveillance systems in. "

BTW, Kyl and McCain were pushing amnesty just a couple years ago.....border security is a top priority to them now but why has it taken so long for them to get it? Now, they're going to secure the border because someone has kept them from doing it? THEY are the reason that it hasn't been done!!!

You do realize that it was BP, and not the White House, that is spilling the oil, right?
Udo realize BP was drilling in waters control by the Federal Govt! U do realize this is a national disaster and that the Federal Govt is responsible for the oversight of BP and is responsible to make sure this oil gets cleaned up. U do realize this Obama Federal Govt gave BP the permit on the rig that is polluting our shores for 62 days!! U do realize that this Federal Govt refuses to supsend the Jones act, a union favored Act, to allow skimmers fr other countries to help with the clean up. Why? B/C your golf in Chief is beholden to the Unions!

Go Sen. Kyl. You are absolutely right. The Messiah in the office is thinking that he cannot criticize him. He has done nothing for this country. He wants to get votes from illegals to remain in office.Other democrats are quiet because they have no voice.

The truth will come out one day. This president has mentioned "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" aka Amnesty every time he speaks about the AZ law. Sounds plausible to me that Obama would say something like that. He has lied about so many other things! Just look them up! Lied about the stimulus, lied about Crap and Trade, lied about Healthcare Bill – his HHS came out and said it would cost more; Obama said if we like our HC we can keep it, now we learn that is not true, and so many more things he has lied to the American people.

    Obama is disgusting!

Golf is good exercise. If I don't work out at least 4 times a week, I feel like ^#(( and my job isn't nearly as stressful as the president. At least he hasn't been on vacation for 1/3 of his presidency like the last guy.

Double-digit unemployment, the largest national debt in our history and an ongoing oil spill disaster, and this administration and its goons in the Congress want to give out AMNESTY to ILLEGAL immigrants in order to secure millions of Democrat voters in the future! The ONLY Immigration reform we need is to enforce the current federal immigration laws AS WRITTEN!
