It would be nice if CNN would have included the rest of the story, but it's probably about an unpopular and unnecessary war that is likely to keep US troops there dying for no reason for years to come. That kind of talk is taboo because it's the truth. And the military doesn't want us to hear the truth.

Firing an aid for your comments won't do. Fire McCrystal!

This is a rerun of President Truman v. Gen. McArthur.......McCrystal has committed insubordination.........He will be replaced. Our founding fathers, wisely gave Civilian officials the reign over the military. For his blasphemous comments against the Prez., but also real American warriors like Jim Jones must be dealt with.

    Be true to yourself McChrystal....

It seems now the military is a target for the media....shameful..especially in a time of war!

  6. Save America, impeach the treasonous republicans

Hopefully McChrystal will also be unemployed at the end of the day.

What a wacky doodle this General is. The military does not make policy ... they follow it ... with honor and integrity.

Loose lips sink ships ... and generals too. I think that The President should fire him on the spot.

Apparently it was unwise for that press aide to truthfully state what McChrystal said. The truth will set you free.........from your job.
I wonder what the General would say if he read a similar article about himself? I'm sure there are people below him that he thinks he can trust and depend on that are talking smack about him!

As an ex military man myself, I know the guiding rule of the military is to follow the orders of the commander and chief. This is especially relevant in upper management of the military where leadership is propagated down to the lower levels.

This article is a huge mistake by General McChrystal. It should be a career ending mistake. As a leader in the U.S. military you take orders from the civilian leadership that is the structure devised by our founding fathers for good reason; any usurping of their authority is unforgiveable.

This action will feed into the psyche of those that deem to undermine the current administration by any means necessary and will provide fodder for their minions to continue their traitorist works.

I thought the troops face courtmartial if they're critical of the Commander in Chief. Does the General face any formal reprimand for being critical of the VP? Firing an aide now for a comment that your own climate allowed is dishonorable.

What a joke! He fires his press aide for an article that he actually sat down and gave the interview to Rolling Stone mag. I guess he will find out how that feels tomorrow back in Washington!! If you said it – own it!!!! Don't be a coward!!

That's the least he can do. It doesn't appear the Gen. McChrystal runs a tight ship. Um, with a war to oversee (a long and difficult one by the way), why do your underlings have time to chat with Rolling Stone reporters????
