Arizona's Brewer: Most illegal immigrants are 'drug mules'

Jan Brewer that most illegal immigrants coming across the southern border are smuggling drugs.

Brewer initially made the comments earlier this month during a debate of Republican gubernatorial candidates. She repeated them Friday when asked by a reporter for the basis of the claim.

"Well, we all know that the majority of the people that are coming to Arizona and trespassing are now becoming drug mules," Brewer said. "They're coming across our borders in huge numbers. The drug cartels have taken control of the immigration.

I used to work with a Mexican fellow at a factory in the Midwest during the 1990's. He always had drugs to traffic around the place as well as other merchandise. His sister worked at a Nike factory back in Mexico and she would smuggle Nike gear in a van out of the country and bring it north people like her brother to sell. Also, his name on his green card was not his real name and he used to brag about it. Dope and stolen goods were always coming into him from Mexico. In addition to this, another city of about 10,000 people located just 16 miles away, had a huge immigrant population because of a meat packing plant located there. This man explained that all the immigrants who came there for work were drug mules as part of the arrangement to enter America with false papers. My former co-worker is now in prison for drug smuggling. Governor Brewer is 100% correct.

How misleading and hate mongering can you get. Even the border patrol is disputing her claims. It is just another example of a mis informed public official who is more interested in retoric than the truth.

My god, this woman is ugly in so many ways. She has an ugly heart, and ugly soul, an ugly mind and and ugly mouth. Too bad cosmetic surgery can't help her with any of those!

I agree 100%. I'm a proud American of Mexican heritage and I live on the border by McAllen and everyday I see in our news of all the drug busts, alot of home invasions, people getting killed and speed chases, especially in La Joya, where you see alot of illegals jumping out of the vehicles once it stopped. I have lived here all my life and I can honestly say what the governor of Arizona is saying is true. You have to live here to experience it. My ancestors came her legally, hard working and abided by the laws of this beautiful country. No one coming here illegally should get special treatment because people want to make this about politics. That is why we have laws.

Of course, Brewer is going to say these things. You don't expect her to let all those false rumors about her go unchallenged do you? You know, the rumors that she really wasn't as bigoted as her earlier comments and actions would have you believe.....

I am waiting for her to propose a new state motto - Arizona: Because Mississippi's Gone Soft.

I just don't understand why America doesn't see this. It been going on for more than 20 years. I've been going threw poverty and drug addicts all my life and I'm only 20. So what the Americans need to do is to stop people from coming into our country, unless they can prove a schooling or work visa at the time of crossing the boarder. I'm tired of all the job being taken away from aliens and yes, this was our fault for being so cruel but it also our fault that The Great U.S.A. is in the state we're in. By the way, How much debt is the United States in? Its to much. It is time to make a change. That's not a racial one.

p.s. apologize for any miss spelling

Besides being openly racist, she is now showing the extent of her ignorance. She must apologize to the Latino Community and resign. Congress must stop the Neo Nazi law and start working on a Humane and Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

In my opinion it is time to start the impeachment hearings. So far our current Administration has brought us the following:

An Unconstitutional healthcare bill that is just now starting to reveal its true costs.
A Wall Street reform Bill that is again Unconstitutional by giving G'vt unlimited authority over private businesses
Nationalization of an Auto maker at the cost to the common stock holder.
Nationalization of a Mortgage Insurance Company
Failure to regulate Oil drilling operations in the Gulf that has led to death of 13 people and an entire fishery
Failure to enforce our Immigration laws and secure our border during a time of war
Backroom payoffs and bribes for legislative actions
Participation and/or knowledge in an organized effort to sell a US senate seat
And last but not least, a 13 trillion dollar deficit, $13/sec for 36,000 years!

If that doesn't smack of treason, collusion, conspiracy to high crimes or misdemeanors, I don't know what does.

If the state of Arizona is serious about ending illegal immigration, than why didn't Arizona support John 'Maverick' McCain in 2006 when he and George Bush tried to develop a comprehensive immigration reform policy.

Unlike Republican President Ronald Reagan that gave amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, the McCain/Bush immigration reform was NOT amnesty and would have terminated the cause of illegal immigration, plus locked down the nation's borders, and ensured the Republican Party 12-million extra votes for the next two generations.

I'm sure we'll soon hear Hillary Clinton point out the illegal drug trade is ALL our fault for having the market for it here in U.S. ! The Dimwits are pathetically naiive and our country suffers tremendously under their "leadership"!

It is amazing that the people of Arizona have elected a Gov. with zero brains....God bless her soul if she has one. I am for stopping illegal immigrants from crossing the border.....but generalization should not be use to describe any race of people no matter who they are or what they are suspected of doing.

Gov. Brewer said, "Well, we all know that the majority of the people that are coming to Arizona and trespassing are now becoming drug mules,"

Remember that when you go on vacation there from New York or North Carolina. Also keep in mind that if you are Black, you could possibly be a "Runaway Slave" or if you are an American Indian, you could be one of the many Indians that is jumping the Reservation after the White man took your land and so graciously gave you a corner out of the way to live on. Gov. Brewer is an IDIOT.

The head of the union for border agents said this is false. He is in a position to know. Brewer is just spouting off at the mouth like all good republican candidates who will do just about anything to get elected (see Kirk in Illinois).

It's easy to mislead people around the country who have never lived in Arizona and don't know the difference between a lie and the truth. I support immigration reform but Brewer is lying, I lived and worked in Az for 40+ years and visit family every 3 months and it ain't what people think.
