(CNN) - Bristol Palin opens up about the secret life of an American teenager – not necessarily her own life but a forthcoming television drama that bears a similar name.
The daughter of Sarah Palin spoke with CNN about her upcoming guest appearance on the ABC Family drama, "The Secret Life of the American Teenager." It will mark Palin's acting debut.
The episode will examine the struggles a pregnant teenager goes through and the relationship she has with her parents. Palin taped the show in March and appears as herself. She admitted being nervous but also said she had a wonderful time filming the scenes.
Besides acting and traveling the country educating young people about teen pregnancy, Palin's full-time job involves caring for her young son, Tripp. Palin talked to Wynter about motherhood, saying, "It's a lot of work…a juggling act."
"Once you're in that situation of being a teen parent, you have to deal with it," she added.
The 19-year-old also said that Sarah Palin is a "great" grandmother who is enjoying that role and often spoils the toddler.
However, Palin was mum about her current status with former fiancé Levi Johnston, who has engaged in public spats with her mother.
Bristol's co-star Francia Raisa, who plays a promiscuous teen on the show, believes Palin's high profile status will help the program's message.
"A lot of kids out there can relate to Bristol," Raisa said. "So it brings their attention to the show."
