Petraeus confirmed by Senate

Washington (CNN) - The Senate vote 99-0 Wednesday to confirm Gen. David Petraeus as the new commander of U.S. military forces in Afghanistan.

Petraeus was named by President Barack Obama to replace Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who was relieved of his duties last week after the general and his staff were quoted in a Rolling Stone magazine article criticizing and mocking key administration officials.

I'm praying for you and all the troops.
Try to remembe through this journey that this is God's war, ...both on the earth and in the heavens...you are just a partner in this, though not His equal. The heavens already know the Victory is already won for all mankind....man soon will.

    It's simple really:

When it comes to wasting money and lives in order to keep the military industrial complex a-churnin', it's easy to get the GOP to provide consensus votes....so Pitridish sails thru.

When it comes to determining whether non-christian, non-white, non-straight, non-male non-corporations (i.e., actual human beings) should have rights or the government should be seeking to protect them, the GOP throws a hissy fit foot-stomping tantrum like a 2 year old told to eat its brussel sprouts...so Kagan gets asked nonsense questions about whether God gave us gun rights, suffer veiled accusations of having lied under oath because there's no substantive argument to rely on, and Thurgood Marshall's heroic, historic career gets dragged thru the mud.

    See? Politics is easy.

Wasn't this President Bush's general that all the democrats (especially Hillary Clinton) hated?

    He'll do a great job.

Obama had to fire McChrystal to save his own face. He knew McChrystal was right in every word he said about him and his administration which is the biggest joke in election history. And McChrystal should retire with his four stars automatically without the presidents okay. He earned everyone of them. I understand also that his choice of Kagan for the Supreme Court is not in the best interest for the people. She is a socialist like Obama. However, let's see how good Petraeus is compared to McChrystal. I am sure there will be several thousand soldiers missing McChrystal and I believe he has a better personaltiy. Even if Obama is commander-in-chief it should not be a crime to tell the president where he is wrong. Those rules should be changed and not one sided. When your wrong your wrong. Obama makes it his business when one of the world leaders are wrong. I congradulate McChrystal in his statement. There should be more like him.

Ok Petraeus – let's get this show on the road, do what we can in Afghanistan and get the hell out of that hell hole just as soon as we can. Because of George Bush, we have wasted too much time, too much money and most importantly, too many American and coalition lives in that country. I doubt very much we will ever be victorious, even if we stay there for 100 years. So let's do the right thing and declare victory and bring our brave soldiers home.

The message to the Repukelicans is this. support the troops, don't support the war.

I can guarantee you that Petraeus agrees with what McChrystal said but cannot admit it to Obama and the public. Obama doesn't know what is going on in Afghan he feels his way through but General McChrystal knew how to handle that war and probably better than McChrystal. Time will tell but I can bet he will be sorry later that he fired him.

Typical Demorons; wasn't Petraeus demonized by the same democrats who now love and adore him?

Then again, par for the course.
