Update: Boehner responds to Obama

House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, issued the following statement in response to President Obama's remarks in Wisconsin Wednesday.

“The President should be focused on solving the problems of the American people – stopping the leaking oil and cleaning up the Gulf, scrapping his job-killing agenda, repealing and replacing ObamaCare – instead of my choice of metaphors.

“Attacking Republicans is a lot easier than explaining to the citizens of Racine, who face 14 percent unemployment, why one in every 10 Americans in our workforce is unemployed nearly 18 months after the president’s trillion-dollar ‘stimulus’ spending bill was enacted.”

“I wasn’t minimizing the crisis America faced – I was pointing out that Washington Democrats have produced a bill that will actually kill more jobs and make the situation worse. It does nothing to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government mortgage companies that caused the housing and financial crisis by giving risky loans to people who couldn’t possibly pay them back. Republicans have a better solution that ends the bailouts, ends ‘too big to fail,’ and reforms Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

“The American people want leadership from the White House, not more childish partisanship.”

Isn't this that Prophet of Doom Guy, remember the armagedon champion? I understand he has sworn to sabotage any attempts of this administration to succeed. He needs not be taken seriously.
Has he come up with any real solutions to get the US out of this economic depression, wait a minute was it not their policies that drove the Economy into the ditch in the first place? FROM SURPLUS TO A DEPRESSION, wow you have to admire these guys!! I know they hate being reminded of this. On second thoughts has he seen the upward trend of the current Economic graph. Oooh the jobs are not coming fast enough, well thats because we've been rock bottom and it takes time to get out. They probably don't know that either.

    1. Wall Street Reform passed, God willing will prevent future scumbags from having to be bailed out with tax payer money!

    2. "Obamacare" WILL SAVE AMERICAN LIVES! What have the Republicans done to solve the healthcare problem? Zip.

    3. The Stimulus Bill passed and gave money to American cities and states to help rebuild infrastructure that is crumbling! What the GOP do voted against it!

At least, Boehner, President Obama IS working everyday to help Americans, what is the GOP DOING besides inciting violence, hate, telling lies and saying NO?!

Isn't he the Pot calling the Kettle Black.......the republicans need to FOCUS on doing more, coming up with solutions instead of stonewalling and fillabustering everything this president does......sure the Oil Spill needs to be stopped but Obama can't do it by himself......We need wall Street reform and he can't do it by himself, but you Stupid Republicans just keep on the same old track of trying to make this President FAIL.....keeping the Party of NO doing nothing by complaining and whinning.......you have turned the GOP into a bunch of do nothing, whinners, and racists and radicals.......your going to lose big time come November......

  6. Fed Up!

So far all the childish partisanship has come from Boehner and those of his ilk. Obama, and this pains my to say, has made the most efforts at bi-partisanship, only to be repeatedley shot down.

John Boehner is out of touch with others and makes me sad to call myself a Republican.

“The American people want leadership from the White House, not more childish partisanship.”

Live by your own words, Mr. Boehner. Childish is exactly what I see coming out of your party and your leadership. Do something helpful for the American people, for a change; not just gamesmanship for your party's future elections.

What's the current definition of "childish"? Throwing a tantrum on the House floor when he's not getting his way? Cuz that seems plenty childish to me. >_>

Then don't compare the 8 million people that lost their jobs due to Wall Street greed and ensuing meltdown to an ANT! Maybe John if you spent less time at the country club pool working on that nice tan of yours and more time doing real work...maybe your party wouldn't be so lame and devoid of new ideas.

Well, the spill that caused BP, just another one of the big business that republicans venerate. We are with this spill because of the "Drill Baby Drill"; a republican slogan !!!!.

Boehner, what have YOU done, to help the hard working people of this country??? What bills have YOU proposed to keep people from becoming homeless, starving, unemployed???? My questions are rhetorical....the answers: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! You have done NOTHING but disrespect and oppose the President since his first day on the job. You are a disgrace to the elected office of congressman. The really sad thing is, that you come from a district of people who think just like you do, and will probably keep your cushy job for many years.

President Obama IS focused on solving the problems of the American people, most of which were CAUSED by Boner Boy's party! it's Boner's party who's trying to stop him at every turn! Boner's vice-president Darth Cheney is largely responsible for the oil slick in the Gulf by letting the oil companies get by without using accoustic switches, at half a million a pop, which would've stopped this spill instantly. half a million is pocket change compared to how much this is going to cost BP and everyone down the line. Obama's trying to clean up the financial mess all the republican'ts' deregulation caused. Obama has to spend and run up the deficit in order to keep this country afloat after the 8 disastrous years of mismanagement and wasteful spending of the Bush years. If Boner Boy cared about this country and its people at all, he'd be helping Obama clean up the mess instead of doing everything he can to perpetuate and worsen it.

Boehner just doesn't understand that Obama's remarks were another of his attempts at bipartisanship. If we'd all just do what the Nazi leftists and their black fuhrer told us, we'd all be so much further ahead.

Over the last 30 years of employing the republican ideology of deregulation, tax cuts, so-called "free trade" and privatization, how many jobs have been created? Hundreds of thousands.....in China. Yeah Senator Boehner...I'm really worried that OBAMA'S ideas are going to kill jobs.

Repulicans have a solution? Give me a break! This Clown of the Congress has the nerve to state this yet leaves no clue as to how. it's easy to yell slogans; difficult to actually have solutions. Boehner is an imbecile who is the Head Imbecil of a clues less political party.
The GOP budget recommendations is a case in point. A budget with no numbers!! Again, no plan. This is why Gearge the Lesser got us to this point.

House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. Okay lets hear the plan to stopping the oil spill in the Gulf Coast, jobs creations, what the plan for the people who are unemployed for more than three years and now the Republicans can to end our employement benefits. We are not all lazy as some of you have implied; my husband and I had great IT jobs that are being outsourced in India today for cheaper labor and workers 3rd world countries. And do not tell me and others it is because of high taxes when most companies do no pay any income taxes when filing end of the year returns (e,g, GE and many others big compaines do not pay a darn dime) it is the middle class and people like you who can cheat, and write off so much stuff and lie. Again what are your plans after all if they are anything like what you did when you were in control of the country 8 plus years ago, then please spare us because this is why we are aobut to fall off the darn cliff now. Where are the Progressive up and coming leaders?

Boehner can't spin his "ant" remaks in any positive way, no matter how much he'll try to make us believe he didn't say what he said. We know who he is, what he stands for. Move on.

So what is their plan? He wants the America of old from other comments he has made. That means the wealthy white men are the only ones with great ideas. No way is this naysayer correct....as long as he is only critical of this administration.

What is your plan for fixing America Boehner--- saying no to everything the President is for?
I don't see why any American, especially the poor and middle class, would cast any vote for you. It is obvious that you are for big business and the rich.
