Though I am not a soldier, Dole's story helped me in my own medical situation overseas. While on vacation in Switzerland, I developed appendicitis. I was scared and nervous to be away from home, with not much English spoken in the Swiss hospital. In this bad situation, Senator Dole's book One Soldier's Story spurred me on until I could finally fly home.

One of the last of his generation of bi-partison politicians with a sharp sense of humor. Definitely one of the last Republican politicians who put their life on the line for their country and was horribly wounded by machine gun fire in Italy in WWII. Now Republicans equate patriotism with cutting taxes in the middle of a war while chanting, "support the troops" and hiring in secret, no bid contracts contractors whose ineptitude leads to the troops getting electricuted in showers.

If all the vets have the money dole has, they would have a much easier time with the rehap process. The realy question is why don't the dole's contribute a boatload of cash to help the injured vets????? or how about the cheney's, of the "very generous"babs bush. Oh yeah she said those "people are used to very much anyway."

    God help the vets –

I remember Bob Dole once asked about the Health Care crisis in USA.. made his statement saying ..."there is NO health care crisis in USA.. everyone is taken care of.... some just do not have Health Insurance..thats all"..Some statement.. while he basks in socialized care ...which would be good for everyone.. Something like Medicare or Veterans Care...Huh.. Bob?....You should correct your statement and be for health care for everyone ....kina like what you get..or something...
