Palin's PAC reports best fundraising quarter to date

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/07/12/art.palincu0712.gi.jpg caption="Sarah Palin's political action committee raised more than $865,000 over the last three months."]
Washington (CNN) - Sarah Palin's political action committee raised more than $865,000 over the last three months, according to a newly filed report with the Federal Election Commission – the former Alaska governor's biggest quarterly take since SarahPAC was launched in early 2009.

But the PAC's fundraising so far this year has been roughly on pace with its 2009 efforts. Palin raised more than $1.2 million since the beginning of this year, about $200,000 less than she raised in the second half of 2009.

She finished the quarter with roughly $1 million in the bank.

Palin's big haul between April and June – and the $742,000 spent by the PAC in the same period – reflects her stepped up political activity in recent months. As November's midterm election near, Palin's team spent more than $17,000 on charter jet travel to campaign for candidates and deliver speeches nationwide.

The committee's largest expenditure of the second quarter was the PAC's first direct mail fundraising effort, which cost more than $150,000 but has netted more than $600,000 so far, according to committee treasurer Tim Crawford. Palin has mostly relied on internet fundraising since launching the Virginia-based PAC in January 2009.

The PAC continued to pay a small clutch of consultants, including several who worked closely with Palin during her vice presidential campaign, for domestic and foreign policy advice, political consulting, logistics and speechwriting.

Befitting the PAC's mission to help conservative-minded candidates this fall, Palin doled out almost $90,000 to Republican candidates, including a handful in the key presidential nominating states of Iowa and South Carolina. Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley, for instance, received $5,000 from Palin.

Palin gave $5,000 to Joe Miller, a Tea Party-backed challenger to Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski - but she also contributed to Virginia House candidate Robert Hurt, who drew several Tea Party opponents in his Republican primary earlier this year.

Though Palin's endorsement of South Carolina gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley is credited with helping Haley secure the GOP nomination, SarahPAC did not contribute to Haley's campaign, according to the FEC filings. Meanwhile, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a potential 2012 rival of Palin's, steered $42,000 to the Haley campaign.

Romney's Free and Strong America, which submits its financial numbers monthly, has not filed its June report but raised more than $1 million during the months of April and May taken together.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty has not posted his second quarter numbers, but a spokesman said his Freedom First PAC will report raising $700,000 in the last three months.

It's amazing how many people support a woman & party who's so clueless. The only thing the Republican / Tea Party has done is be the party of no. And, do all they can to try & regain power so they can finish ruining what is left of this great country. The country needs to move forward more than what we've done with the Republican / Tea Party kicking & screaming NO every step of the way. I guess, they want to see the soup lines, even more homeless & the end to Social Security – by the way which is what millions live on these days. Maybe the very rich will support you – yea right. If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brookline to sell you.

Just like PT Barnum once said there’s a sucker born every minute.

But what he was keeping a secret was you can find most all of them in a church somewhere.

Rush,Beck or any of these idiots out there helping in the clean up
they sit in there plush homes laughing at the public down at the
gulf and talking there crap so they can make money off them and
then put a road block in trying to make sure that this won't happen
again by saying we need to drill when there is just about no oversight
on the oil giants its all about the money and until the american voter
changes this problem no one will be going down the gulf people
are tired of being poisoned by food, drugs, goods, and oil and now it

This lady is such a joke. If she were so great why is she not in Hatiti or along the Gulf or the inner city or talking to the unemployed while they are waiting in line ?? Where are her solutions ?? Where is her better plan ??? I am SO ASHAMED that this the best that my former party can come up with. A hostile/negative ,slightly educated, former Govenor, beauty queen, hiding behind the merits of true MOMS, and laughing all the way to the bank. This is why our Country is in the mess it is in now. We Americans have failed to recognize the quality of the folks that we put in political positions....most are simply NOT QUALIFIED. Obama at least has a fabulous education and holds secondary college degrees. It took this young women only seven years to get a liberal arts drgree from an average school. It was not as if she had to support children as a single parent either. She is SLOW folks.

She has not had any problem raising or making money personally thanks to all the loons who constantly trash her. As a conservative, I personally don't find her politcally appealing but find it humorous all the vehemence directed at her is making her wealthly. Definitely not widely loved but she is quite the entepenuer.

Palin could have a billion dollars in her coffers, and unless every single democrat, or millions of independents died, she still has no chance of ever winning a general election. Zip, Zero, Nada.

Now if it were only more than a slush fund for Sarah Palin and were actually being used for what it is supposed to be used. I get the feeling we will see even more ethics and law violations in her near future.

Palin is not suited for the Presidency and does not have the intellect to aspire to run this country. She's after the almighty dollar. I will not watch her show as this past week shows that she lifted interviews from other shows, she can't even be honest with her audience that the interviews were tapes from other Palin wouldn't be the dumbest woman in Wash. DC.She's after the almighty dollar. I say, Sara, stay out there. You make the President look that much more presidential.she's not the brightest bulb on the tree and she QUIT her state job (but the Alaskans area actually probably better off since she did). Oh, did I remeber to say Palin=BIMBO! Never met a camera she didn't love.

It's a sad commentary indeed that there are this many people who buy this woman's garbage enough to give her money to continue spewing it. she is a negative influence on this country and its politics, and that was the kindest way i could think of to say that.
