Administration bills BP $99.7 million more

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/07/13/art.spill.sat.gi.jpg caption ="The Obama administration has sent another bill to BP and other parties in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill."](CNN) - The Obama administration has sent a fourth bill for $99.7 million to BP and other responsible parties relating to the energy company's oil spill, according to a statement from the Deepwater Horizon Incident Joint Information Center.

The government said BP is financially responsible for all costs associated with the response to the spill, including efforts to stop the leak at its source, reduce the spread of oil, protect the shoreline and mitigate damages, as well as long-term recovery efforts for individuals and communities.

The government bills BP and other parties regularly for costs incurred by the federal on-scene coordinator to support federal, state and local response efforts and ensure the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund is reimbursed on an ongoing basis.

Keep doing it Mr. President! Protect our shores and the people living on them. Keep holding the responsible party BP with a boot heel on their necks. It's about time that America stands for Americans!

Shakedown, shakedown, shakedown...oh, this government has no shame. We, the American people (oh, wait)...you the poor saps who happen to be in the middle and working class in American should pay for this with your tax dollars. We, the rich Republicans, don't pay any taxes thanks for our buddy George W Bush! Extend the tax cuts so I can continue to contribute to the deficit!

I'm off to host a tea party on my yacht. God Bless America!

Some people blamed the president on the oil spill. I have not remembered people blaming Reagan during the Exxon Valdez? Even though this BP oil spill still going on, Jindal, wants to continue drilling in deep water without moratorium and blamed the president if something goes wrong.

May God forgive me, but I sincerely hope they drill themselves into ANOTHER OIL SPILL.

Greed of this magnitude coupled with stupidity needs to be cured by ANOTHER HUGE MAJOR OIL DISASTER. And I hope it happens when a Republican is in the White House!!

    That'll teach 'em!

I wonder if the government has a itemized list of expenses, that amount sounds pretty high to me. Not that the obama administration would do anything against the law....right?

If BP is responsible, they should pay the bills. I hope Obama has itemized everything.

Now where does the $20B come in?

(Come on liberal kooks, be honest in your comments. Obama took money from BP. Obama's administration gave them waivers. Obama didn't respond–even though the disaster took place in federal waters–and not within state borders.... Stop blaming the wrong people for the democrat's incompetence...

Oh, and like the article says, they would pay for damage even without Obama. Please quit giving him credit for things that would happen anyway.

Remember back as to what I said about who will get the lions share of the 4 billion per year for the next 5 years, if that even happens. BP is toast and will belly up as BP and diversify under some corporate umbrella type move, how can the Fed ensure that a bankrupt foreign corporation reimburses on an on-going basis, they cannot. The only way this clean up is going to be addressed over the next 20 years of devastation that it will reign down on the gulf fisheries is to assure that BP and other drill operations remain intact, properly regulated and profitable. They have to make money to spend money, unlike Obama they do not have a printing press at their beckon disposal.

Funny, I didnt know that the US govt had even sued BP? Thats because they didnt. It seems to me that a judge or jury should be determing what amount BP should pay not the annointed one. Civil liberties quashed like a bug by obama. Sieg Heil Commandante obama! Long live the fuhrer!!!

The largest contributions to a politician by BP in 2008 was to Barack Hussien Obama. Mr. Obama is going to earn all type of fees from this disaster. Whether it is skimming the 20 billion or pushing large amounts of the 20 billion to SEIU, Mr. Obama will continue his rape of America.
