NAACP passes resolution blasting Tea Party 'racism'

Washington (CNN) - The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has passed a resolution that condemns, what it feels, is rampant racism in the Tea Party movement. Members passed the resolution on Tuesday at the NAACP's annual convention being held in Kansas City, Missouri.

The action pits the nation's oldest civil rights organization, with a storied history of wins in various bouts for racial justice, against a grassroots conservative movement that has won some recent political races and is flexing its muscle in Republican circles.

I used to have great respect for the NAACP. However, since the ridiculous complaint regarding a Hallmark card and now the even more ridiculous allegations about the Tea Party, it is clear that the NAACP has outlived its usefulness. I'm sick and tired of people playing the race card. It's the 21st century people...GET OVER IT!

Isn't it amazing how an organization, who's sole existence is for the advancement of a race, can somehow call an organization, who's sole purpose is to defend the constitution of the United States, racist?

Too bad they don't have a shred of evidence to present as facts, only hearsay.

But then again, this is not about facts, but only to demean the opposition the only way the NAACP can, by distorting the truth and lying.

Bravo. You now have no credibility in race relations.

WHAT HYPOCRISY! Just the full name of the NAACP is racist at its base and it's intent. If it were named the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION for the ADVANCEMENT OF PEOPLE or NAAP their condemnation would at least not come across as the POT calling the KETTLE BLACK!

Hey, at least it keeps those fellows at the NAACP making good money. The only way to deal with anything they don't like is by calling it Racism, what about the rest of us, what do we get to call it when it is visa versa?????????

Interesting, the most "accepted" racist organization in the nation calls political dissent racist. Hmmm.

The real racists are the NAACP. They'll do or say anything to deflect attention of their failed agenda.

A good test of the racism of an organisation is to fiddle with its name. If a hypothetical "National Association for the Advancement of White People" would be considered racist, then the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People is equally so.

For the NAACP to decry any racism they imagine to exist in the Tea Parties is utterly hypocritical. The truth of the matter is that the NAACP overwhelmingly supports the Democratic Party and their "resolution" is simply a political ploy attempting to smear the Tea Parties.

Sorry, but that's not likely to work. The NAACP and similar organisations have been crying "racism" at every opportunity for half a century now and, like the old boy-who-cried-wolf story, no one takes it seriously any more.

There is no need of a resolution, everybody knows they are racist.

  10. The NAACP is a racist organiztion

By its charter and mission statement the NAACP is itself a racist organization as they advance the cause of colored people only, to the detriment of latinos, asians, and whites.

It's wrong to use "Colored Persons" as part of this groups name.

Rightly, it should be "National Association for the Advancement of African Americans." Or just "NAAAA" for short.

They have become too political lately. Please get back to what's real – helping the disenfranchised. They will never get anywhere insulting salt of the earth Tea Party folks.

What issues done or said by the Tea party have been claimed to be racist?
If there are concrete acts of racism they are not to be tolerated, but playing the race card against 'conservatives at large" is a mistake even to a large organization who has had some historical achievements.
It dilutes the notion and ugliness of racism and makes it no more than a political card !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
