The poll, conducted by Mason-Dixon, shows Reid ahead of Angle, 44 to 37 percent, with a 4 percent margin of error. The poll is the first Mason-Dixon survey showing Reid's lead exceeding the sampling error. Voters will decide the contest in November.
Ten percent of the poll's respondents were undecided, while 9 percent preferred someone other than the two major party candidates.
Reid's aggressive advertising campaign, according to the survey, has eroded Angle's support across the board. Angle's support has dropped 9 percent among men and 5 percent among women. While she still dominates among Republicans, her support has dropped by 11 percent with GOP voters. She's also fallen by 6 percent among independents, and 4 percent among Democrats.
The poll of 625 likely Nevada voters was conducted by phone from July 12-14.
I guess its time for th GOP to crank up its dirty tricks machine and inject some Tesas oil money into this campaigh to create a "grass roots" mandate of the people come November.
For the republicans and the tea party the polls wont matter now. People in Nevada are finally getting a clue who this wack job is and it's about time.
I'm not a fan of Sen. Reid. He is a weak majority leader and should be replaced by a "true" progessive but Reid isn't Sharon "How dare you use my words positions against me!" Angle and so he gets my support.
This is why Ms. Angle won't give interviews to anyone but ultra conservative outlets. Once the general public gets to hear her say how Americans should barter chickens for medical care and some of her other extremist views, her polling numbers start to drop rather quickly.
Nominating Sharron Angle may have just been the best thing the GOP's ever done for Harry Reid. I can't help feeling that a more moderate, experienced, heavyweight candidate would have given Reid far more to worry about.
When the light is shined on her far-right beliefs, people realize that Angel is not "right" for Nevadans
Remember the last time a candidate decided they were following "God's Will"? I hope you do out there in Nevada.
