Facebook apologizes for deletion of Palin post

Washington (CNN) – Social networking site Facebook issued a bit of a mea culpa Thursday after a post by former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was deleted from the massive site.
In a statement given to CNN, Facebook said a "note" by Palin about her opposition to building a mosque near New York City's Ground Zero had been deleted by an automated system.
"The note in question did not violate our content standards but was removed by an automated system," Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes said in the statement. "We're always working to improve our processes and we apologize for any inconvenience this caused."
After the original post was deleted, Palin re-posted the note Thursday morning.
I have nothing to say. she has her opinion. and I see she now stands against the freedom of religion in this country. just wondering what other freedoms she stands against.
The funniest part about the whole Palin thing is that I remember hearing David Gergen stating how the MSM would go after her because they didn't like being "scooped" and being completely wrong about McCain's choice for running mate. This was before she was even introduced as the VP candidate... but I love her! If for no other reason then she drives liberals crazy... every story about her is like a new software virus being sent through every liberal's pc and it is hilarious watching these hypocrites call her names, wish her dead... and then say she is the one full of hate... too funny
As far as the Mosque goes... someone please explain why the three major western religions feel the need to continually build their houses of worship right on top of each other or in a place they know will cause problems... all three claim to stand for peace so why is it that they need to constantly provocate each other like this... so stupid...

I agree that ALL should champion free speech. Just like the right championed the Dixi Chicks-No wait they were crucified by the right. How about all those that spoke out against the war in Iraq, the right championed them-No wait, they were called traitors and some even suggested they should be investigated for speaking treasonous remarks. Sara Palin has the right to her idiotic postings, ranting, ravings. I will defend her right to say them. Sounds like Facebook made an honest mistake. As for Basmans comparison to Shirley Sherrod- well there is no comparison. If you have followed the story, Shirley Sherrod was (in typical right wing fashion) crucified by Fox Intertainment for what they THOUGHT she said. Not bothering to look at the forty minute speech, instead jumping on the bandwagon of the snipped/clipped manipulated portion the the jerk wanted Fox Intertainment to have. Even they had to reverse their rhetoric when they found out the whole story.
Exactly what hate is she "spewing". Disagree with the woman's politics but mention the woman's name and you people go absolutely rabid. It's ridiculous.
Now if they could just delete Sarah Palin...

Facebook is like the MSM. They have an automated system that deletes all bad press about Dems and loony libs, as well as anything positive about or from conservatives and Republicans.
