New Angle ad turns Reid slogan upside down

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/07/23/art.anglead.0723y.youtube.jpg caption =" A new ad from Sharron Angle turns Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s campaign slogan upside down."] (CNN) - A new ad by Sen. Harry Reid's Republican challenger is using the Senate Majority Leader's own words against him.

"Harry Reid says he does more for Nevada," says Sharron Angle, Nevada's Republican Senate nominee, in a new television commercial, repeating the "no one can do more" slogan Reid's campaign used in its general election kickoff last month.

"He's done more for unemployment. We were at 4.4 percent. Now we're at 14 percent," adds Angle, who speaks to an audience in a town-hall type setting.

Nevada currently has the highest state unemployment level in the country.

"He's done more for the foreclosure rate. We have the highest foreclosure rate in the nation." Angle continues in the ad.

Angle closes the commercial by saying "Harry Reid has done more and it's time for us to say 'stop doing it', we can't stand any more,"

The Angle campaign tells CNN the commercial will run statewide in Nevada on both broadcast and cable television.

The ad is the second of Angle's three general election commercials to criticize Reid for the state's sky high unemployment rate, and appears to be an attempt to make the election battle a referendum on Reid and what he's done, or hasn't done, in his four terms in the Senate.

Angle beat 12 other candidates in the June 8 GOP primary to capture her party's Senate nomination. A former Nevada state lawmaker, Angle enjoys strong support from many in the Tea Party movement. Since then Reid's campaign has been successful in using past Angle statements to paint the candidate as outside the mainstream.

Two different Reid campaign ads out this summer use an audio clip of Angle saying "as your U.S. Senator, I am not in the business of creating jobs."

Reid faces a difficult re-election this year as he bids for a fifth term in office. But the most recent Mason-Dixon poll for the Las Vegas Review-Journal indicated that Reid led Angle 44 to 37 percent. The survey is the first one from Mason-Dixon in which Reid's lead has been outside the sampling error.

    The woman is certifiably insane.

If she thinks she can avoid questions and get anything accomplished for the State of Nevada, she's an insane IDIOT.

Put a stop to her nonsense. She's making women all over the counry look bad. Or is that the norm for females in the Mustang Ranch State?

Is Angle saying that Reid alone was responsible for the unemployment? Does she think that the people of Nevada are that stupid?

If God sent her, I hate God. Tbaggers think Obama tanked Wall Street. He lent people money for homes he foreclosed on, opps W was there, minor detail. And we in the GOP just say it is not true.

I used to vote for both parties, now it is NO GOP, we need collaboration, and compromise to fight the employment issues.

You know its funny how the libertads all claim these problems are Bush's fault or the Republicans. It might help to remember that until January 2006, Republicans controlled the White House and Congress, the libertards took Congress in 2007 and took of the White House in 2009. When exactly did things get worse? Also get tired of the race baiting libertards claiming the mean old Republicans are blocking them from making things better. They have the majority in Congress (have since 2007) and the presidency. Are they just weak leaders or trying to create some sort of bogeyman that explains their moral and ethical problems. Man up, libertards.

Harry has also done more for the National Debt that future generations are expected to pay. More debt added than any other congressional leaders in history that is.

    What a shameful legacy..

What this and every other bible thumping redneck who says they know what others should do in their life don't realize is that actions have consequences and if they don't realize that it was the bible thumping redneck run businesses that nearly ground this country into fine dust, then they need to open up a science book instead of sticking their head so far into a bible they get ink on their noses.

Keep on hammering it Sharron, the people of Nevada need to hear the truth about Harry Reid. His record and the shape of the country since he became the Majority Leader in the Senate is horrible. Reid has been wrong on almost every issue he fights for. The Debt, the Stimulus, the Health Care bill, Financial reform and now the Cap and Trade are all issues the American people opposed but Reid and his partners Pelosi and President Obama rammed them through anyway. They have taken a bad situation and made it a hundred times worse while blaming everything on the previous Admin.

The left and the Democrat party think the American people are stupid. We can teach them a lesson on Nov. 2.

With GWBush you could tell when he was lying by just checking to see if he was moving his lips. Now with Boehner, McConnell, Kyl, other representatives and the likes of Limbaugh, Beck, Palin and others, their offensive arrogant and stubborn demeanor, that says ‘up yours’, is their insulting effort to disguise their subterfuge. If some see that as strength, instead of recognizing it as a defensive posture and likely as close as you will ever come to seeing them admit guilt, that is a shame because the manipulation then has found victims.

Should she become Nevada's next Senator, I imagine Angle will turn the United States Senate *upside down* as well.

Ought to be hilarious to watch.

This woman is a disgrace. She runs away from the press so she doesn't have to answer for her wacko ideas. If she's a Christian, how can she call the poor unemployed who can't find jobs, spoiled? So she's nuts and mean, too. I sure hope the voters of Nevada don't provide her with a job. Anyone would be better for the state than her.

This brainless twat should shut her stupid ignorant mouth.... what has she done for nevada?

    July 23, 2010 12:05 pm at 12:05 pm |

Ms. Angle, your state is at 14% unemployment not because of Harry Reid but rather from the aftermath of the previous administration's economic policies. Since most of your State's revenue is from Los Vegas – no one in their right mind (over the last two years) is going to "Vegas" to spend what little monies they have left. This is what has led to the high unemployment rate in Nevada – not Harry Reid!

Wrong angle Sharon. You are an idiot for seriously wanting to privatize social security. After the near Wall St. collapse, I'd prefer the federal government handling a federal prgram.

This is not going to work because Angle you are a tape calling the unemployed lazy and it is not your job to create jobs.

You can not be running for Congress and running from the media. We desired to her all your views.
