New Angle ad turns Reid slogan upside down

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/07/23/art.anglead.0723y.youtube.jpg caption =" A new ad from Sharron Angle turns Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s campaign slogan upside down."] (CNN) - A new ad by Sen. Harry Reid's Republican challenger is using the Senate Majority Leader's own words against him.

"Harry Reid says he does more for Nevada," says Sharron Angle, Nevada's Republican Senate nominee, in a new television commercial, repeating the "no one can do more" slogan Reid's campaign used in its general election kickoff last month.

"He's done more for unemployment. We were at 4.4 percent. Now we're at 14 percent," adds Angle, who speaks to an audience in a town-hall type setting.

Nevada currently has the highest state unemployment level in the country.

"He's done more for the foreclosure rate. We have the highest foreclosure rate in the nation." Angle continues in the ad.

Angle closes the commercial by saying "Harry Reid has done more and it's time for us to say 'stop doing it', we can't stand any more,"

The Angle campaign tells CNN the commercial will run statewide in Nevada on both broadcast and cable television.

The ad is the second of Angle's three general election commercials to criticize Reid for the state's sky high unemployment rate, and appears to be an attempt to make the election battle a referendum on Reid and what he's done, or hasn't done, in his four terms in the Senate.

Angle beat 12 other candidates in the June 8 GOP primary to capture her party's Senate nomination. A former Nevada state lawmaker, Angle enjoys strong support from many in the Tea Party movement. Since then Reid's campaign has been successful in using past Angle statements to paint the candidate as outside the mainstream.

Two different Reid campaign ads out this summer use an audio clip of Angle saying "as your U.S. Senator, I am not in the business of creating jobs."

Reid faces a difficult re-election this year as he bids for a fifth term in office. But the most recent Mason-Dixon poll for the Las Vegas Review-Journal indicated that Reid led Angle 44 to 37 percent. The survey is the first one from Mason-Dixon in which Reid's lead has been outside the sampling error.

Harry, thank you for your service, but you need to step aside and let someone lead Nevada better. You have been divisive, ineffective, and a drain on your State's resources. Maybe you need to let a Blue Dog Democrat come in and fix the mess this Administration has done thus far.

    "outside the mainstream."

That's a polite euphamism for "batsh-t crazy opportunist ideologue."

Her picture should appear in the definition for crazy. Lets talk about the GOP and how they and BUSH drove Nevada and this country in the junk yard. Angle is a loon and a real loon at that.

Angle is completely out of touch with the current American society. The century when the constitution was inacted was long ago. Laws and life have advanced. To cling totally on the 2nd amendment shows terrible judgement for basic ideal concerning this country.

Her views (with no real ideas) are insane. With views like that she should stay in the crazy zone.

Get Angle and Palin together and lets see what Grizzly Moms do when they meet in the wild. Answer: kill each other, that is the facts of nature.

Unemployment rate is high in that state not because of Reid but because of the one money maker in Nevada – Las Vegas. Less people tracking spending $$ there of course the casions and all associated business will cut back. She is not one of those affected what is she upset about?!

If Nevadans elect Angle as their senator, then they deserve her. She is an idiot, very much like Sarah Palin. Each have positions that are so wacko, there is absolutely no intelligence in them. Both have minus rated IQs and both are idiots.

  11. Randall in Torrance, CA - Angle says, "God wants girls and women to bear their rapists' children"

This fringe lunatic needs to jump off a cliff and hit her face on a jagged rock. Maybe that would improve her looks too. She should changer her name to Mangle because she looks like she was raped in the face by an Army tank. Maybe she would change her mind about having children borne from a heidious act like being raped by an ax murderer with AIDS and then being told she is going to have sextuplets and her and the kids all have AIDS. How did this idiot ever get into politics? She is clearly one of the craziest people ever dropped from an airplane to survive and run for office.

She obviously was raped by Satan and gave birth to the Tea Party.

And yet she has no details on what she would do differently or even what she would do. She has one plan and one plan only – defeat Harry Reid. It is a sad day when people don’t want to be elected to serve, but rather to stroke their own egos.

interesting, she said it was the state government's responsibility to create jobs for the state, not the senate. which one of them is in the state government again...?

Is anyone surprised that Nevada's unemployment rate went down. The lavishness of Las Vegas could not be sustained during the recession. People who have no money cannot jump on a plane to Nevada to gamble.

Angie needs to rethink her statements. Harry Reid did not cause the high unemployment rate. it is a series of factors for which both parties can take some blame.

She seems to change themes very quickly. When her statements are criticized for being absurd, she comes back with another slogan.

Is there a third candidate in Nevada?

This DIGBAT Angle would push to throw social security and medicare to the wolves at wallstreet, ban alcohol in Nevada and says that floride in the water is a communist government plot to control the population. This lady is NUTS, PERIOD and you right wing CLOWNS want her representing you?

It wasn't Reid who created the conditions for the debacle that led to the 14 % unemployment in Nevada. It was the Republicans who preceded Sharron Angle, the same ones she supported ans still supports. She supports their rotten, antiquated, pro-big business, pro-the wealthy policies and if Nevada wants someone to work for them instead of the rich they'd better think again about sending her to congress. This monstrous economic depression is not instant coffee. It takes nursing and the Republicans don't know how to do that.

That 14.4% unemployment is a result of the national economy. Anyone can see right through her claims.

And the Nevada unemployment rate has nothing to do with the Great Recession brought on by Ms Angle's party. nah, Harry did it all by himself. hope everyone saw this dingbat literally running away from a news conference so she wouldn't have to answer any questions and defend her outrageous positions.

What have you done for Nevada, lady? Nothing? What will you do for Nevada once you are elected? Same. You will just stand in the way of progress by voting along your racist agenda, just like the rest of the Tea Party. If these loons get elected, we will have slavery again, and they will spend and spend. No taxes, of course not, but they sure will spend...

I think Sharon Angle should explain to the people in Nevada in the mainstram News Channels about her view of the role of Senator; specifically on unemployment rate in NV and creating jobs.

She must have great plans and remedies to help the people in NV to deal with the crisis in NV. May I suggest CNN, CBS, NBC and Nevada local news programs?

Harry Reid, along with Pelosi and Obozo, have done more to hurt this country than anybody has ever done in our entire history. The American people are FINALLY starting to wake up and will take action this November and in 2012.
