Gingrich to blast Obama's 'willful blindless' in security speech

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/02/17/art.gingrich.file.gi.jpg caption ="Newt Gingrich will blast President Obama in a foreign policy address Thursday."]Washington (CNN) - Newt Gingrich will deliver a major national security address at the conservative American Enterprise Institute on Thursday in which he will reprimand the Obama administration's "willful blindness" to the threat of extremist Islam.

The speech - a direct challenge to the president's foreign policy judgement at a venue that's become an important stopover for Republican luminaries - is the latest sign that Gingrich is serious about a potential White House bid in 2012.

Gingrich "will warn," according to a synopsis of the event, "that now is the time to awaken from self-deception about the nature of our enemies and rebuild a bipartisan commitment, in Afghanistan and elsewhere, to defend America."

Never one to shy away from his somewhat professorial reputation, Gingrich plans to draw on "the lessons of Camus and Orwell" to explain "the dangers of a wartime government that uses language and misleading labels to obscure reality."

Goes to show you how ignorant Gingrich is regarding policies that the Republicans have fostered over the last generation. It has been a failed policy.

    O My Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The GOP has made it clear that they have no interest in bipartisan support in anything.

I'm surprised Newt has s much free time. Usually he is busy cheating on his current wife. Must have run out of Viagra, or word has gotten round that he's a very small man and no other woman is interested. Angus MCDugan, you sound like a good match for this idiot.

Newt cannot run on an anti-war platform for a war that was created under a Republican president. It's like saying Obama is taking too long to clean up the Republicans' mess. That won't go down well with anyone other than those who are determined to get a Republican back into office no matter how idiotic the argument is made for it.

The audacity of a man in a speech that will exclusively bash Obama, to say ""that now is the time to awaken from self-deception about the nature of our enemies and rebuild a bipartisan commitment, in Afghanistan and elsewhere, to defend America" is stunning.

Newt wants a holy war, and if he could start one in between divorcing all of his wives he might just start one. Anybody who trusts this puffy philandering liar who was forced out of the speakership of the house is sorely lacking cognitive ability.

And of course CNN will report Newt's speech verbatim and will NEVER mention the progress President Obama has made in shoring up relations with the Muslim world which has kept us far safer than any of the illegal tactics used by the former administration. You have to ask yourself, yet again, why the Islamic extremists are so pissed at the United States? Could it be their paranoia after eight years of neo conservative saber rattling and talk of forging a Christian democracy in the Middle East. Wake up, people, and shut Newt, you know not of what you speak.

This person is a perfect example of whats wrong with the nation. Can not imagine the people being so forgetful that they, the voters of the nation would allow such a person to become the figure head of democracy.

PRESIDENT Obama is not blind. He just doesn't run around yelling mission accomplished, bring it on, nor does he openly talk about this nation's secrets.

Get lost loser. Go tell your wife you want a divorce - oh wait – she isn't in a hospital for cancer like one of your previous wives.

Vote NO to the GObP in november.

These nuppies deceived Bush to start Iraq war before achieving Afhganistan. We have lost both plus our economy is in shambles. What a moron.

I refer back to( Buck back in headlines with dumbasses comment) just replace Newt instead of tea party. The only thing republicans would be doing different is sending more troops and talking more about Iran and north korea and anyone else that would scare people.

Gingrich is correct. I wish we had a Romney/Gingrich presidency. They would have fixed the economy without working around the Constitution.

Question: Why do progressives (Obama, Pelosi, Frank, Dodd, Waxman, Boxer, Waters, Clinton, Gore...) think that the Constitution is obsolete? It is the document that changed the world for the better... and continues to do so.

Newt, baby, not everone is an enemy of this country. That's just in your mind. Get over it and relax a little. We don't have the money to fight the wars your buddy Bush started as it is. How will we ever fund a worldwide war on terrorism? Get a job, you obviously have way to much free time on your hands.

How can you not laugh when a Republican cries for a "bipartisan commitment". Why didn't these clowns show their "bipartisan commitment" when they stalled the vote in the Senate to extend unemployment benefits for the 2.5 million who lost their benefits? It seems to me they only call for this when it is something THEY want to see happen. Other than that, they have been and will continue to be the Party of No. – Anything to make Obama look like he is failing.

News for you Newt (and the rest of the Republicans) – We like President Obama and, if you jokers would stop all you political side-stepping and mud-slinging, you might find out he has some pretty good ideas. The problem has been those of you who have thown every road-block you can find to try and trip him up.

I used to be a fan of Newt and I used to vote Republican. Newt's time has come and gone. We are now in the 21st Century and we need a leader who is too. All the "good ole boys" need to just pack up and go home. We are not buying your scare tactics anymore!!

America's Leadership – Change your handle. You don't lead me, you don't lead my friends, and you don't lead the country. Newt SHUT DOWN the US Government because he felt slighted by Bill Clinton. So basically, we had minimal to no federal govt for more than 2 weeks because he was a crybaby. That's just the leadership I don't want. Go back to doing whatever you do, even posting, but not under THAT handle.
