Sherrod plans to sue Breitbart

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/07/29/art.shirleysherrod.file3.cnn.jpg caption ="Shirley Sherrod said Thursday that she plans on suing Andrew Breitbart."](CNN) - Former Agriculture Department employee Shirley Sherrod said Thursday she will pursue a lawsuit against conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart.

Breitbart posted an edited video clip of Sherrod appearing to say she discriminated against a white farmer looking for assistance. The clip showed her addressing a chapter of the NAACP.

"I will definitely do it," she said when asked whether she was considering legal action. Sherrod made her remarks during an appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in San Diego, California.

Breitbart "had to know that he was targeting me," Sherrod said. "At this point, he hasn't apologized. I don't want it at this point, and he'll definitely hear from me."

Take every dime he has, and then move on to Faux News.
That's probably why O'Reilly apologized, he knew a lawsuit was coming from Ms. Sherrod.

GOOD......and while we are at it we need to have that type of reporting and Newscasting reviewed by The Federal Communications Commission. Making stories up, editing only what you want or what supports your personal political preferences is NOT fair and accurate News Reporting folks. That is called manipulation of the facts. In our judicial system that is ILLEGAL. All of todays reporting...especially the News channels hedge on manipulation and is PUSHING freedom of the press beyond the intent of our constitution. Shame on YELLOW JOURNALISM. The media are trying to create an election sensation for the GOP and I hope that the American voter does not fall for it, at the same time teach the 24 hr news station a lesson...LOSS OF RATINGS.

She has the backing of "real" Americans. He did target her and the administration. Another attempt by these so-called Conservative Republicans gone wrong. They just don't get it! Let's not forget this incident when the mid-term elections come about. It was the Republicans who created yet another false tall tale.

How about she sues the people who actually fired her?!? This woman is awful.

Why is she awful? What did she ever do to you or anyone else? Did you even bother to listen to her speech? It is people like you who are awful. Willing to condemn and vilify this woman over something that you don't even know anything about nor are you willing to listen to what her explanation is. No, instead you are more than willing to listen to those who deliberately took her words out of context in an attempt to make her a racist. See that is what is wrong here.
Rather than hearing her story and understanding where she is coming from you would listen to the very people who delibertly distorted her words. WOW!! and some how she is wrong?

Good. Breitbart should absolutely be held accountable for his reckless, destructive behavior.

I do not think she'll win based on the evidence that she acknowledges she had racist tendencies against a white farmer. So no matter how this blogger spliced or edited the entire speech it still is not a lie that she was a racist and was willing to use her power of authority to not fully assist a white farmer before she had her "epiphany" and now claims that she is colorblind when assisting farmers.

What happened to her was wrong, but he is not the one who fired her. All he did was play part of a tape how ever misleading if he didnt doctor the tape what can he sue for?

Ms Sherrod is sueing the wrong party, and that won't go anywhere. She should be sueing the White House for having her asked to pull over in traffic to be fired over a cell phone.

Sue him for what? Was that not her on the video? The media cuts and clips quotes all the time and more times then not takes them out of context. In this case Mrs Sherod might have been taken out of context but there is no doubt she is a raceist and the fact that the Audience made up of the NAACP were laughing it up and applading simply makes the point that the once proud orgaiization is simply a mouthpiece for the Dems.

So go ahead and waste your money and sue. You have 0 chance of prevailing. By the way your 15 minutes of frame are up. Go away

I thought suing people was her primary income? Sounds like she's already got her job back.

I think it's time for the Tea Parties to initiate a class action suit against everyone and every organization who's alleged racism charges against them! Fair is fair, right?
