RNC cancels Breitbart fundraiser

Washington (CNN) – The Republican National Committee has cancelled a fundraiser with conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart, who is under fire for promoting an edited video that falsely portrays former Agriculture Department employee Shirley Sherrod as having boasted about discriminating against a white farmer looking for her assistance.
Breitbart was scheduled to appear with RNC Chairman Michael Steele at a reception later this month in Beverly Hills.
“We are working on scheduling and we fully plan to have another event scheduled soon based on our existing trips to California,” an RNC spokesman said in a statement sent to CNN.
The spokesman said the fundraiser was cancelled “To better capitalize on the fall fundraising season that happens post-Labor Day, while also lowering costs by utilizing existing trips to California.”
Breitbart has been under fire for posting the video clip of Sherrod that led to a rush to judgment and Sherrod's forced resignation. She was later vindicated when her speech to a chapter of the NAACP was shown in full. Sherrod said on Friday that she will sue Breitbart.
Update: An RNC spokesman tells CNN that Breitbart will be invited to the next California fundraiser this fall. “The invitation stands,” said the spokesman, who noted they are looking for “an alternative date.”
What is going on in this country that would encourage a person to do what he did to Shirley Sherrod? What makes a person in this country constantly tear down Pres. Obama or other people of color? What makes them hate their fellow man? How sad, I guess we just have to pray for these people. This is not what the God I serve teaches. Oh, maybe these sad, unhappy, insecure people find it difficult to believe in a higher power. Maybe these people should read Psalm 27 in the bible. God don't love ugly. You reap what you sow, payback is TOUGH.

The RNC dosn't give a hoot about the issues, just the complete destruction of the opponent – period!!!

no, actually, RNC doesn't know whether they can raise more money from their moderates or their extremists, but they do know that any tactic likely to satisfy one will alienate the other. This kind of floundering is irrefutable evidence that the Republican base is shrinking rapidly.
I see they're casting him aside just like they are the Tea party. As soon as you are no use to them or become a political liability they are done with you. You will not see Bright-boy anywhere else. He burned Fox with Acorn and now with Sherrod, he is toast. And so with the political wind at their back the Republicans are poised to snatch defeat from the jaws of the victory. November will be the most epic fail in political history. I guess that woll be Obama's fault too.
