Palin endorses Murphy

Washington (CNN) – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has endorsed yet another candidate-this time it's Brian Murphy, Maryland Republican candidate for governor.

In a statement posted on Palin's Facebook page, "I'm honored to endorse Brian Murphy for Governor of Maryland. Brian is a pro-life, pro-Second Amendment commonsense conservative and a firm believer in the free market and the cause for energy independence."

"As a former energy industry executive and current small business owner, Brian has the private sector experience that is so lacking in government today. He knows how to incentivize industry to get our economy moving again. Together with his running mate for lieutenant governor, Mike Ryman, Brian will provide Maryland with principled and results oriented leadership," said Palin.

Murphy's campaign responded to Palin's endorsement in a press release, "I am humbled and honored to receive Governor Palin's endorsement. Governor Palin has served her city, her state, her country, and her party with distinction. Governor Palin has always been led by principle, conviction and character."

"I look forward to working with her as we unify the Republican Party in Maryland, and around the country, on its core principles. Governor Palin's endorsement is an honor and a privilege," said Murphy in a press release.

Murphy faces incumbent Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley who is running for re-election as well as another former Maryland governor, Republican Robert Ehrlich.

Ehrlich is considered the overwhelming favorite to win GOP gubernatorial nominee. Ehlrich would face off in the general election against O'Malley. O'Malley defeated Ehrlich in his 2006 bid for re-election for a second term.

Murphy is the founder of the Plimhimmon Group an investment group. He is a University of Maryland and University of Pennsylvania Wharton School graduate.

CNN's Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.

i'm glad palin is doing all the dirty work for me in identifying the phony conservatives--the same ones who promised to cut spending when elected but ended up spending worse than a democrat. In Texas, she endorsed Rick Perry who ended up wasting taxpayer dollars on his substitute rental mansion while the governor mansion was being repaired. PHONY CONSERVATISM. I know who I will not be voting for. Palin probably gave Perry tips on how to hide those costs, since we all know about her thoughts about trying to run her hot tub installation through as a government expense.

"Palin has always been led by principle, conviction and character."

And her "principles, conviction and character" can be bought by anyone willing to pay her 100K hooker fee.

Are we to believe that Sarah Palin spoke one word of this candidates resume from actual knowledge or did she just read it from distributed information for the media? I would be willing to bet if she passed Mr. Murphy on the street she wouldn't recognize him because she possibly hasn't even met him. Does she get paid for these endorsements individually or is it a lump sum for so many endorsements?

Someone should ask Murphy whether he will be a governor in Palin's mold – quit in the middle of his elected term.

Better yet, take a leaf out the Clinton's family values and go and run your house properly. You have no clue what your children and grandchildren are doing. Shame on you GRANDMA!!!!!
