Washington (CNN) – On President Obama's 49th birthday, the Republican National Committee is out with a new website full of electronic greetings intended to slam the president and national Democrats. The Democratic National Committee is hitting back, referring to the RNC's move as "tired, childish, political games that do nothing to help anyone."
The new site, baracksbirthdaycards.com, hosts 11 digital birthday cards from which users can choose. All of the cards are mock greetings from various political or governmental figures to the president. The mock messages come mostly from Democrats with the exception of the card featuring Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, who passed on the GOP primary earlier this year and is now mounting a non-party-affiliated bid for Florida's open Senate seat.
One card features Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley, former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, and former Virginia gubernatorial hopeful Creigh Deeds. Since Obama took office, Coakley, Corzine, and Deeds have all lost high-profile statewide races to Republican opponents.
"We got you that dinner jacket you had your eye on," the card featuring Coakley, Corzine, and Deeds says. "We noticed you were missing some coattails."
In a reference to two very recent Democratic ethics cases in the House of Representatives, a card featuring an image of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says "What do you give the guy who has everything? How about Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters? Hugs and Kisses!"
The card featuring Vice President Joe Biden is tied to Biden's history of making verbal gaffes. "For your birthday, you won't hear a f@#&ing peep out of me."
The mock card from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid takes issue with Democrats' approach to the economy. "Sorry no gift this year. I'm going to need every dime to defend our failed economic policies."
Other mock cards available on the site feature White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, Obama senior adviser David Axelrod, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Rep. Charlie Rangel of New York, Gov. Crist, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, and former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
Once users select a card, they can provide the e-mail addresses of up 20 of their friends to send the card to at the same time it gets sent to the president.
The new website also has a page where users can donate to the RNC.
In an e-mail to CNN, a spokesman for the DNC suggested that the new site was a waste of time.
The RNC's "time would probably be better spent coming up with new ideas to help American families, instead of on these tired, childish, political games that do nothing to help anyone," DNC national press secretary Hari Sevugan said.

To the RNC: You are as mean as they come: Vindictive, green with
envy, hateful, Un-American, spiteful, greedy, unethical, ignorant,
desperate, silly, "idiotic", vicious liars..... You speak out of both sides
of your mouth and you ARE putting America last. You have the audacity
to pretend to know what Ronald Reagan would do, and you are as
far from this good man's thinking as it can get. You eat your own if
they dare to stray from hate, and you stick your heads in the sand
over your own Congressmen and Congresswomen's questionable
ethical behavior. If you would demand the same things from
Republican politicians that you demand from Democrats, maybe
America would recover faster, and with or without you, WE WILL
RECOVER! Spend more time on our Country's needs, and less
on stupid, crappy, stuff like this. Thank you.
Way to go, RNC. Stay classy!
It's hard to believe these are grown-ups.
One simple word od advice. Stop playing like kids. If you are trying to garnish votes this is not the way to do it. Your mocking of your president shows you have no respect for the presidency. Tell Mr. Steele to gather his troops and send for training on ethics ans respect for the presidency.
Hillarious...and honest!
If I was a contributor to any organization that would waste money by stooping to such a immature level, I would make my voice heard. None of these cards further public discourse. None of them offer any new ideas. They are meant to continue polarizing their followers. We can do better than this, and we can come up with solutions together!
Can they at least be funny?
