Palin helping RNC raise money

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/05/21/art.palin.closeup.jpg caption="Sarah Palin is helping the RNC raise funds."]

Kansas City, Missouri (CNN) - In a surprising move given her reputation as a political outsider, Sarah Palin is helping the Republican National Committee raise money ahead of November's elections.

Palin has attached her name to a letter and survey being mailed to RNC donors soliciting contributions for the committee's Victory 2010 program, a nationwide get-out-the-vote effort.

"Millions of Americans are expressing their frustration with the state of our government. I join them and seek to return our country to greatness," reads the letter, obtained by CNN Friday.

"To accomplish this, working within our two party system, I join the RNC - the political home for "Commonsense Conservatives" who want to re-take governance - and I ask you to join me," the former Republican vice presidential nominee's letter continues. "Let's bring our new brand of Reagan conservatism to our party and the country!"

Having the Palin stamp of approval may help the RNC recover some of its standing among conservatives who have been troubled by chairman Michael Steele's handling of the committee. And her unquestioned star power is certain to help the RNC in its ambitious quest to raise a total of $107 million in 2010.

But her helping hand could be seen as an effort to mend fences with party insiders as she ponders a possible presidential bid in 2012.

Since returning to Alaska after the 2008 presidential campaign, her relationship with the Washington-based GOP committees has been notoriously frayed.

Palin irked GOP officials in Washington in March 2009 by committing to, and then backing out of, a joint fundraising dinner for the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee.

In March of this year, she asked the RNC to remove her name from an invitation to a party fundraiser in New Orleans that listed her as one of several invited guests.

Read the full RNC fundraising letter:

Dear X,

Millions of Americans are expressing their frustration with the state of our government. I join them and seek to return our country to greatness. To accomplish this, working within our two party system, I join the RNC – the political home for "Commonsense Conservatives" who want to re-take governance – and I ask you to join me. Let's bring our new brand of Reagan conservatism to our party and the country!

And we must work together because Washington is broken, and we need to clean house.

If you think that America can afford two more years of Obama/Pelosi/Reid with total control then stop reading now.

But, if you are ready to take back our country for free markets and limited government, then join me today by contributing to Victory 2010.

Please help today to stop America from going over the cliff with reckless, unsustainable debt and know that your gift makes a triple impact by helping to elect conservative Members of the House and Senate as well as a majority of new Republican Governors in up to 37 states.

A rare window of opportunity to take back our country is before us, but nothing will get fixed if good Americans stay on the sidelines in xstatex or think others will step up to the plate in your place.

If you are tired of the irresponsible and anti-free market agenda of Nancy Pelosi and you want to take the gavel away from her by winning 39 seats in the U.S. House …

…If you want to stop Harry Reid's ability to ram through dangerous big government legislation and help elect at least 10 new conservative Senators to win a Republican Majority …

… And if you agree the 37 Governor's races are the hope for our Party's future to develop a new crop of conservative executives and turn crucial blue states red this year….

… Then I ask you to make an investment of 25 cents in every one of the 435 House, 36 Senate, and 37 Governor's races for a total of $127 to help provide our candidates with the resources they need to win in November..

Of course, whatever you send is greatly appreciated.

None of us can clean up Washington on our own. But, together we can unite millions of American's who share your values.

The American Dream is in danger like never before. I've been criss-crossing the nation for the last year and a half, and I know that by using Victory 2010 to pull together and organize our efforts we can win in November!

This is the most pivotal election of our lifetimes and we cannot afford to have Americans like you on the sidelines. If that happens, we will surely lose.

This economy is heading dangerously in the wrong direction towards insolvency. We all know America can't go on running deficits like this.

What we must do is obvious to those who live in the real world:

>> Washington must tighten its belt and spend less than it takes in.

>> The private sector must be unleashed to create jobs for the world's best workers.

You and I both know that with two more years of control in Washington, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will lead America into a debt crisis like the financial mess we see unfolding in Greece.
Unless we stop them.

The power of this nation rests in the hands of everyday Americans like you.

So, can we count on your help?

Victory 2010 is the Republican National Committee's state by state campaign effort to elect GOP candidates at all levels of the ballot. It's the only national Republican Party organization charged with this duty.

Your single gift of 25 cents for the each of the 435 House, 36 Senate, and 37 Governor's races for a total of $127 will take the gavels away from Pelosi and Reid and help elect strong conservatives who believe in smaller government, lower taxes, and fiscal responsibility.

A kick-off investment of $25.50 (5 cents per race), $50.80 (10 cents per race), $101.60 (20 cents per race) or $127 (25 cents per race) in Victory 2010 will fund targeted TV and radio ads, mailings, internet outreach to voters across America, and get "boots on the ground" in every state to help get out the vote.

If giving through the web is more convenient, please go to http://www.GOP.com/Victory2010 .
If we are to stop the Democrats' march to the left – and halt President Obama's big government/anti-free market agenda – Victory 2010 needs your help.

Please join me in working to make a difference for our great nation and keep the American dream alive for generations to come.

Sincerely,

Sarah Palin

PT Barnum once said there’s a sucker born every minute – But what he was keeping a secret was you can find most all of them in a church somewhere.

Sister Sarah and the GOP know this and just relish the fact that they can con these thrust worthy believesinto givin' 'em money just like the evangelical grifters do...

I mailed $25.50 to RNC-Sarah Palin today because all my family and friends have really got angry over what the DNC, Owebama, his Admin. and Michelle, black Marie Antoinette indeed who reserved 60 rooms at five-star, the Ritz in Marbella, Spain to cost from $341 to $6,500 per a night. They have only plans to spend a huge Government
money. My revel is with cause that DNC, Obama and Michelle will have destroyed for America to go bankruptcy.

this has to be a great relationship because the GOP is using Sarah Palin just as much as she is using the GOP. A large amount of GOPers know that Sarah Palin has a very slim chance to be elected POTUS in fact few think she's qualified..BUT she has a great way of firing up their right wing base and she does it using that old Republican mantra of "FEAR and MISINFORMATION" as she does it very well. Sarah Palin can say practically ANYTHING about President Obama and the Democrats no matter how untrue or tasteless it may be and NOT have to either confront the ones she's talking about nor have to answer questions about her assertions due to being protected by the FoxNews bunch and if you do call her out on some of the things she says she cries foul and that the "evil left wing media" is picking on her and her fans buy it hook line and sinker.

The GOP hopes her fan base turn into votes, in the meantime Sarah is raking in the cash. So far this "marriage" has worked fine for both of them, but all good things must come to an end and I feel in the longrun this will as well.

  5. Save America, impeach the treasonous republicans

I think it is amusing that republicans, like Mike Pence, are also blaming Bush for the mess we are in.

Palin is a pompous arrogant windbag, and I dearly hope the GOP nominates her as Presidential candidate. She will either lose in a rout that is lower than Bush I or Goldwater, or if she wins the country will be put out of its misery in a very short time. There is simply no reason for any sane person to support someone who is so completely devoid of character, education or intelligence. Please rant on.

It's so funny to read the thread about Franken and see the comments from the neocons calling him a "joke". Especially comical when they have Palin as their mouthpiece. Franken has more brains in his big toe than that airhead. Not only that, but he has the class to apologize when he really doesn't owe that idiot an apology at all. Also funny to read the comments about how libs are progressive, like that's a bad thing. Is it better to be regressive? How's "trickle down" working for you? Repeat that until you turn blue, GOP.

Being as Americans are stuck with a two-party country, Sarah has no choice but to help elect a lot of conservative Republicans and clean the big-spending, lobbyist butt kissing, good old boys club dolts out of the Republican Party and get it back to its more Conservative roots.
I get to laugh a lot nowadays as the liberals and socialists in the Democrat Party realize they have an absolute disaster as their leader. Barack Obama is a marxist black nationalist reparations and redistribution of wealth zealot... pure and simple. And the American people, with a lot of whites thinking how great it would be for a black to be elected and show how they weren't racist and then they would feel good and eliminate some of their phoney guilt over something that happened years ago, closed their minds along with the willing biased liberal media, and blindly voted this sore excuse for a human being into office. I look on Obama like this...
he admitted he was happy to screw the country up with his wacko ideas even if it meant he only served one term.
Yes, it will take Obama only one term to fk this country up and it will take generations to eliminate the results of his screwing around.
