Indiana Democrat lumps Obama with Pelosi, Boehner

Joe Donnelly released a new ad on Monday."](CNN) - Moderate Indiana Democrat Joe Donnelly released a new ad Monday that lumps President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Minority Leader John Boehner together, labeling all three: "the Washington crowd."
The 30-second spot focuses on illegal immigration and highlights Donnelly's position on the hot-button issue.
" … I voted to hire 5,300 more border agents, penalize any business that hires illegals, deport illegals who commit felonies and eliminate amnesty, because no one should ever be rewarded for breaking the law," Donnelly says.
"That may not be what the Washington crowd wants but I don't work for them, I work for you," Donnelly adds.
Donnelly's general consultant responsible for the ad buy said his candidate's willingness to buck Obama and party leaders is what makes him a viable candidate.
"Voters see the leaders of both political parties in Washington as being to blame for an atmosphere that is oftentimes too partisan and frustratingly ineffective," Bob Doyle said in a statement provided to CNN. "It's Joe's independence that sets him apart from the Washington crowd."
Republican State Rep. Jackie Walorski is challenging Donnelly for his seat. Donnelly is seeking a third term in office; he won re-election in 2008 with 67 percent of the vote.
