Johnston running for Palin's old job in reality show

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption ="Levi Johnston wants to be the star of a new reality show that will profile his campaign to be mayor of Wasilla, Alaska."]

(CNN) - Levi Johnston wants to run for Sarah Palin's former job – with cameras watching him at every step.

Stone & Company Entertainment confirmed to CNN that it is actively shopping a show that will feature Johnston seeking his former almost-mother-in-law's old post as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.

The show, to be called "Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor's Office," will feature the trials and tribulations of America's most famous teen dad as he enters the world of politics while continuing to dabble in Hollywood, Stone also confirmed.

First reported by Variety, the company confirms it is already shooting the pilot and is shopping it to several networks.

When the show was first floated to Johnston – who recently broke off his engagement to Palin's eldest daughter, Bristol, for the second time – he wasn't thrilled with the idea of following in the former Alaska governor's footsteps.

"But the more I think about it and look into it, I think there's a possibility we can make it happen," Johnston told Variety. "It's something that I want to do."

That it might.  The former mayor of Wasilla, Verne E. Rupright, won in a 2008 runoff election with a total of 466 votes.  The next mayoral election won't be held until 2012, but Johnston may seek a seat on the city council in the meantime.

Johnston also told Variety he hopes the show exposes his true character.

"It's hard to figure me out," he said. "You've got to follow me around. I'm very different. I lead a crazy life. But it will basically be both worlds, my life in Hollywood and back home, the real country boy that I am."

Really, the fame clock run out on this loser a long time ago.
Advice to Levi, become an involved father of your child, you screwed up, this is a good time to redeem yourself, not going after a job you really dont want but will take for the sake of seeing your face on TV for that little bit longer.

Instead of "Dallas" we can call it "Wasilla", and the main character can get the previous mayor's daughter pregnant, and the ex-mayor can do a reality show in which she runs for Governor, and quits that job....

I look at it this way: if Sarah Palin was elected mayor, the bar must be sooooooooo low that Levi has a good chance to win!

This kid is just that – a big kid. What a joke he is and Bristol should run as fast as she can and stay the heck away from him. His head is so messed up – he is nothing but a player and is after fame – matter of fact with his ego and Obama's, maybe he should shoot for higher things and go try for Obama's sidekick. OMG these people make me sick to my stomach with their ego and arrogance. Just what we need – another airhead in politics. ANd people wonder why America is in the shape it is in – wake up people and STOP VOTING FOR THESE IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes, all caps means I am screaming!!

Yeah, another saga in this redneck family!! Can't get any better than that.

Normal people would feel embarassed (sp) by being the object of so many jokes but the Palins obviously don't. It is mind boggling but probably not surprising that the uneducated Republican base, the ones that eat at the trough of Beck and the like, eat this woman and her family up. They just cannot get past her decent but perhaps skanky looks.

An actual elected office shouldn't be used as a plot device for some stupid reality show. Levi needs to show some respect for the political process, even if it is a small town.

I thought I had seen enough dumbness from this family and people associated with it. Everytime I think they have hit rock bottom, they better themselves with one more, what with Mama Bear and baby bear's eye rolling at a teacher in the now viral video. I guess they are really good at "drill baby drill". Just keep getting better at plumbing lower and lower depths of ridiculousness.

This is just disgusting...this kid is running for public office for which he has NO qualifications for, and is hoping to win based soley on the popularity of the scandal involving him and the Palins.

This child should be trying to finish school and start a career somewhere to build up some life experience, not jump straight from happy meals and power rangers into position of leadership.

I find it equally disgusting that an entertainment company is exploiting his ignorance and idiocy by wanting to make a reality show of it. Levi has been on a steady track of really messing up his life for over a year now, but if left alone he has a chance to straighten out. Put him on a reality show about him trying to become Mayor just because he is in the tabloids and he'll never recover. 10 years from now he'll be right up there with Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, and New Coke.
